Re: Released / Retained List 2015-16 season
He got 16 league goals in a poor BPA side last season. None of our U21 are anywhere near ready to play in a side that will be pushing for promotion hopefully. Just out of interest Neil who did you fancy us signing ?

Good signing but useless if he is employed anywhere but down the middle which was why he went downhill when he was with us last time.Hope Simon learnt from his mistake last time.

I'd have gone for Southwell, Denton or Walters. But it looks like Southwell is going to Scotland, Denton has gone to Halifax and Walters won't come to Harrogate (although he is a local lad, he will look for a bigger club). They would have been my first 3 choices.
I hope Chib proves me wrong next season, but the reason I say this is that BPA played to Chib's strengths last season and we have changed our playing style drastically since Chib was last here and I do think he will struggle to adapt to our style of play.
Moving to 3G will make us a team that plays the ball more on the floor and play at a higher tempo than last season.
Can Chib adapt to the Harrogate style of play next season? Time will tell.

If we can get the supply lines right then who knows. Ability to play different styles and formations and counter opposition setups will also be important. All about getting them conditioned to play high tempo over 90 mins.

An article by the Advertiser on Weaver speaking about Chib returning to Town.
The article also mentions that Andy Mcwilliams has been released and Paul Beesley wants to fight for his place in the team.

'm delighted that chib has come back. if he gets enough game time he will get goals for us. i do however feel that we are probably still short of a real ace goalscorer (unless Pittmann proves to be it).
Is that the end of the signings?

Would imagine so.
The management and coaches are very confident in the ability of JPP. Offer utilised on the wing for Grimsby due to his pace. Is a real fox in the box I believe and if playing in a more advanced role, is bound to get us goals.

Re: Released / Retained List 2015-16 season
I also believe that transfer business is pretty much done now. The only outstanding issue now is the situation at LB. McWilliams has been released and as there has been no update on Louie Swain's contract situation, so if Swain decides not to stay, then we will need to sign a LB to provide cover for Parker. That is the only outstanding issue from a transfer perspective?
Fully agree with Jordan on the JPP issue, but also to hold in mind, although he has his critics, a fully fit Dominic Knowles could quite possibly get 20+ goals as well, as long as he stays fit. If them 2 get fully firing and gel as a front pair next season, we will be right up there.

I didn't realise he could play LB. That could be transfer business done then, regardless of Swain.

Simon has done some absolutely fantastic transfer business in this window, and i'd go as far to say that it is probably the best window of business he has done. Irving obviously deserves a tremendous amount of credit also for making the finances available for Simon to sign these players.
My only slight critique with the transfer business is the signing of Chilaka (hear me out before jumping on the bandwagon!!) I am (slightly) concerned that he may struggle to adapt to our playing style (high tempo, playing on the floor) but hopefully he will adjust accordingly. If he does, and he is played up the middle in his correct position, then I can see him providing a positive contribution towards the team effort.
On a positive note with Chilaka, you can see and feel the passion he has for the club, and that is the type of players we need on board. Players who will give 100% every time and leave it all out on the pitch. With Chib, we know we will get that out of him.

Re: Released / Retained List 2015-16 season
Got to admit if this squad fails to make the play-offs, even in a league which on paper looks the hardest to get out of for many a season ..I'd be totally gutted.Quality cover for Ben(left back) is all's that missing.
If this team gels and there's no reason why it shouldn't we are in for a fantastic season.
Here's hoping

Great to see Chib back. Great player for us and always gives his best. Extremely nice man too. All success to him.

That should be it now. Just need to get the various alterations inside the ground completed now and off we go.

With possible changes to the play-offs this season a 7th place finish could still mean a chance of promotion & a match @ Wembley!!!!!!

Re: Released / Retained List 2015-16 season
Not a graet surprise I guess, Ryan would have struggled to get much first team action with the strength of our midfield now, good player though. I liked Cadman, what little I saw of him, thought there was real potential there, but again the same issue. Good luck to them both.

Re: Released / Retained List 2015-16 season
I've got to say I don't like us releasing all our young players with high potential! Although it is to be expected as they're not going to get much first team action at all. I liked Cadman out of them two most, he always looked lively on the ball. Good luck to them both.
I think Fallowfield is trialing at North Ferriby, I've definitely seen him on a training video on their Twitter page.

Re: Released / Retained List 2015-16 season
I agree with comments about Fallowfield and Cadman and find it a bit ironic that on our web site it boasts about the growth of youth development when we are losing two of our youngest talent because they most likely won't get much game time

Youth Development is about Academy and below, not First Team squad players.
Completely different thing.

I've heard from a reliable source that Swain is staying with us, he just needed to sort out with work about the Monday training.

Re: Released / Retained List 2015-16 season
Think I read something similar in the Advertiser.
With only 3 strikers (Chib/Knowles/Pitman) still feel we are one short. With Day on the fringes at the end of last season and Reaks impressing for the U21, I'm wondering whether he will look to promote one of those two.
