I think it means that they have applied for planning permission, which suggests that it might well happen.
Im guessing?

Wow, fantastic. Hope it goes ahead for them. Guiseley are looking to the future like us. There is one big difference though... I think he's called Mark Bower.

Add them to a site such as [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and then send us the link... I would love to see it if possible!

I think the new stand would work best converted into a Tesco Express. Can't see there being any other use for it.

Re: New Stand?
Not really, I mean unless people are happy to stand behind it, how can anyone say the capacity hasn't been reduced? No way could the hospital end accommodate the same number of spectators that were packed in for the FA cup games against Torquay and Hastings.Gareth192001 wrote:I guess its just put a roof over a area that people could stand in already

The ground capacity is based on Health and Safety issues. The capacity of the area behind the goal at the Hospital end was not based on how many you could cram in back to the hedge, but on a figure which meant the ground could be evacuated quickly and efficiently in case of an emergency.
Just to repeat to make it quite clear.... UNCHANGED

On second thoughts it could maybe converted into a row of executive town houses at 200k each. If only we knew of someone who could 'develop' this idea ?

Re: New Stand?
Just veering off subject quickly.......Never mind just that row, the whole lot could be developed when the lease is up. How many rows of executive town houses would you get on that whole plot? Just think of who we have as the Chairman, and how he made his fortune......
My theory is that as far as I am aware, the plot that the club sits on is council owned I believe, and there are also no restrictive covenants (not that I know of). This could mean that when the lease is up, the land could be sold off to the highest bidder? It would be interesting to try and find out when the lease is up?
However, saying that, I dont know where the council standpoint would be if it decided to sell the land in the future, after the lease has expired. Would they have to relocate us? Would we become a homeless club?
I'm being cynical here, but what if Irving's true intention for becoming Chairman was not to do with keeping his son in a job, but the land the club sits on?
It would be interesting to gather thoughts on this.

To be honest that's what I was digging around at Neil. Something fishy going on isn't there? Something just doesn't sit right with the whole thing and everything that has gone on.TheNeil29 wrote:Just veering off subject quickly.......Never mind just that row, the whole lot could be developed when the lease is up. I mean this new stand that everybody loves, Irving didn't actually pay anything towards it did he? And despite what the previous poster says about the official capacity, there is now way with that construction and how it has been built, that the same number of people could fill that end of the ground were we to play a big cup tie...and we're planning to do something similar to the other stand...
Developer1 is obviously on to something and I reckon he knows a lot more than he's actually letting on.
