New Stand?
Will the stand be open tomorrow? I remember before the Stockport game people saying it'd be open for the game tomorrow?

Re: New Stand?
I'll keep out of this debate after my previous comments so Ged won't jump down my throat but I think it could be ready for next Saturday home game whenever that is

Re: New Stand?
Good luck with filling that. Based on current form, there is more chance of me winning the lottery, than filling the stand. It's obvious what Irving is doing to me.

Re: New Stand?
It should be rammed with home fans, not away fans. But it won't happen until there is a change of manager.

Will not be open tomorrow night.
Why the fixation about filling it? The only time we have ever filled a stand is when we have had a big game (Torquay, Hastings etc).

Re: New Stand?
Because I believe that we would fill it, if the current manager left and we get someone in who knows how to manage. And they also need somewhere to put the fans when the wetherby road side undergoes work.

Re: New Stand?
And to add. What would be the point building it if you weren't going to fill it? Irving was probably confident it would have filled if Simon had a clue, Unfortunately, he doesn't. So it won't be filled. You'd be lucky to get 200 people in it this season. Apart from the Stockport game, and that's not a given due to the pathetic attendance at the last Stockport game.

Re: New Stand?
It looks very good, but my immediate concern if I was Irving would be filling it. Based on current attendances, it just won't happen.

Re: New Stand?
There is an obvious disjuncture here, isn't there? Irving presumably authorised the new stand assuming, with all the money spent on players, we would be near the top of the table, pulling in 600 or 700 fans a week. Presumably he was also thinking ahead to being in the Conference soon (good luck with that one Irving!). Because he has lumbered us with a **** manager (his son) neither of these things will happen, hence the stand (which DOES look great by the way), will be a white elephant, with a few people rattling around in it. Comical really. Its great being ambitious but if you cannot see what is in front of your eyes (utterly inept manager) then, frankly, you deserve everything you get.

Re: New Stand?
It's very obvious to me why the stand was built
1). If we have a big game we now have the facility to segregate because the away support would have all necessary facilities
2). If we did by some fluke get promotion we would be ready for the larger away supports that would come to games in the future

Re: New Stand?
Does anyone seriously think that under SW's leadership (which will go on until the crack of doom), there is even the remotest possibility of promotion? Face it, if this squad (probably only Barrow's is costing more), cannot even get near the play offs, it will NEVER happen under the current regime. We all know this. I thought talk about being in a relegation scrap this season was just a joke, but it now looks a real possibility. Its not that we can't score goals, we don't even look remotely like scoring.

Sounds like we will be getting in that stand against Brackley to cheer the lads on! Hopefully we will be shooting towards it in the second half to inspire a win!

Re: New Stand?
A quote from the web site about the stand..
"Is there anything in particular you feel should be included in the time capsule, your favourite moment of history sealed away for the future, 2114, infinity and beyond?"
May i suggest Simon Weaver...

"...time capsule to be opened in 2114"?
What are the chances of the ground still being there in 100 years' time?

Re: New Stand?
Well, there is no restrictive covenant, and the land will be available to sell in between 10-14 years. Might be sooner than 100 years time. I'd prefer some individuals to leave the club tomorrow. 2 of them, maybe 3.
