Re: Match Thread! Worcester City (Away)
At last, something to cheer about. We can also score goals in a couple of minutes. What a relief!! I was being a touch sarcastic earlier. I'm glad for the everyone connected with the club who made the effort to go to the game. The win will make their journey home more pleasant. Its up to Weaver and Co to get the team on a run now. Oh for a clean sheet or two!!!

Get Dootson back, and get Weaver to admit that he asked Dootson for his opinion, and because he didn't like the reply (the rest is history). Rule No1 "If you want an opinion, then be prepared to hear something you might not like"[b]
Grow up Mr Weaver,

Re: Match Thread! Worcester City (Away)
Dootson is a bad egg. Always has been and always will be. Weaver did the right thing in getting him out. If he had stayed he would have alienated all the other players and caused mayhem in the dressing room. It's okay having an opinion but never taking any share of the responsibility is a problem if you're not as good as you think you are - a couple of games for Bury FC don't make you a world beater!

Re: Match Thread! Worcester City (Away)
Who says that he was popular? Dootson himself?! He has no awareness of himself or his actions, whatsoever. He is arrogant and self righteous. When you are trying to build a 'dressing room' to take a club forward you have to assess characters and decide if they are in it for the team or for themselves and whether or not you can accept this in return for their contribution to the grand scheme of things. Dootson is not good enough to say what he thinks regardless, especially when what he says is not right. Dootson is, and always, has been in it for himself. You only have to look at what he did last season in telling the club that he was siging for them only to perform a massive u-turn and go elsewhere without having the courtesy of letting the club know. He cannot accept that he has been comprehensively dealt with because his ego is so huge!

You're very protective of him aren't you?! That was my point exactly! He gave his word and club officials were expecting a meeting to conclude the deal after an agreement had been made and Mr Dootson failed to arrive and even failed to inform the club! What loyalty does the club owe him when he displays such a lack of respect for the club and the people that run it. It was a mistake to bring him to Wetherby Road, which the manager is culpable for. However, any manager worth his salt, when he recognises that a player is not on board does the right thing and moves the player on. That happened in this instance and Dootson does not like it so it appears that he tells you what a nasty man Mr Weaver is, which again demonstrates the type of character that he is - a destructive personality! This shows complete vindication for Weaver to move him on.

I've not been to a game this season.
For somebody who hasn't been to game this season, itk seems to be very well informed on the personalities of our players, maybe if he had been to a game or two he would have seen which players where doing the business on the pitch.
Do we want winners or not.
This is a tough league and we need the likes of Doots who would take no crap of anybody.

It's pretty clear that Dootson is a more capable keeper than what we've got at present, nevertheless itk makes some valid points and much of what is said about Dootson, I happen to agree with (By the way, I've been to all Town's games this season)
I may not be Weaver's no. 1 fan, but it would be well worth some people bearing in mind that there are two sides to every story (i'm aware of the less flattering account of Dootson's stay at the club) and in this instance I believe it was right to move him on.

Re: Match Thread! Worcester City (Away)
Maybe it would have been better to keep Dootson until we got a "better" replacement?
This extract is from the Worcester press:
Although Mace was understandably edgy in his unfamiliar surroundings and far from convincing, the Australian produced one of the most bizarre goalkeeping displays seen at the Lane in recent times.
He was a disaster waiting to happen, with some wretched kicking, and by the end must have wanted the ground to swallow him up.
Once Lee Ellington had played in Armstrong to drill the visitors ahead, Gonzalez took centre stage.
With 13 minutes gone, he blasted his goal-kick straight at defender Jake Picton who played the ball back to his keeper.
Gonzalez then sliced his clearance across the goal and also managed to fall over in the process, presenting Glover with the easiest of tap-ins.
Still reeling from the error, he was beaten by Glover again two minutes later as the striker turned the ball home following a routine left-wing throw-in.
Gonzalez kept up his comical act in the second-half but his 70th-minute howler was no laughing matter for City.
Tom Thorley thought he had put the hosts 3-1 ahead but, with Gonzalez flapping in desperation trying to grab the ball on the ground, the midfielder was deemed to have fouled the keeper as he rolled the ball into the unguarded net.
I wonder what's happening behind the scenes?

I've never felt convinced by our new keeper, and that report is brilliantly funny. Thank God he didn't cost us this much needed win, although he clearly nearly did.

Some comments appear contradictory, for example:

You're very protective of him aren't you?! That was my point exactly! He gave his word and club officials were expecting a meeting to conclude the deal after an agreement had been made and Mr Dootson failed to arrive and even failed to inform the club.
If those facts are correct, do you not think that manager would have agreed to bring him to Harrogate town this season?
Something is missing here,( the truth maybe )
Question 1, Do you honestly believe that Weaver would have given him a second chance, if he'd been let down as you suggest.
Question 2, Do you honestly believe that Dootson would have had the audacity to come here this season after performing that trick.
I don't believe what is being banded about, somebody is mixing a bottle.
Weaver isn't a forgiver and Dootson is too good a keeper to go crawling.

Answer 1 - Yes, because it's true.
Answer 2 - As above.
Look, we are where we are. At least with Weaver in charge we know we won't have to wait long until the next replacement is found.

sorry, if you don't like the answers. You're right, with Weaver in charge relegation is a possibility.
