A draw would have been a fair result tonight.

Keeping the ball, not just lumping it forward and losing it. Ball winner in midfield who looks like Roger DeCourcy's younger brother without nookie bear. Should have gone 2-1 up just before they scored.

All in all an enjoyable game, that certainly didn't appear like a training session. There were plenty of decent hard challenges and slick passing with movement. Dont think we looked second class at all. Did they have an effort on target in the first half ?

Nice to get a little letter on arrival, followed by the best pork pie I have had in ages. Thought the ref was sensible in the conditions, not like some of those wallys in the world cup.

A really enjoyable game last night despite the dreadful conditions: must have been close to being abandoned after the first 15 minutes, both teams deserve credit. Lots of encouraging performances: Dootson, Bowey, Foster, Savory, Roma etc. Hard not to feel positive about the new season on the evidence of the first two games.

This game was a welcome change from the dramatics seen by basically all the players at the World cup, some good old non-league grit. This season definitely looks more promising!!

What a great, entertaining night at Wetherby Road!! A welcome at the turnstile, a news letter.........and pies!!!! Best pork pie I've had for years, nice people in refreshment place.
Great game, in poor conditions. Gateshead must have wondered what hit them. On this showing, we have a good season's football to look forward to.
Alan, Bill and Simon have taken the stick - now they deserve the credit. IMO, a very much more professional setup. Good luck to all!

Have to agree with Pie and Chips closing comments, a lot of work has obviously been going on in the Summer, and I think the team at Wetherby Road deserve some success this year.
