PITCH PERFECT !!!!!!!

I have just been down to the ground and the pitch is looking "pre season" superb !

The only area that is receiving attention is the linesmans touchline which is been dug up, aggregate laid and then sand on top. There is absolutely no standing water at all. The blanket goes down at night for frost and the covers are ready for rain.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate George and Jim, who I chatted to this morning, and all the other groundstaff on a superb effort. I cannot tell you how pleased and reliefed I am with the condition of the pitch.

The forecast upto and including Saturday is dry, windy, cold and sunny, perfect !!!!

Town's profile is rising! I had tea in Windsor today with a rep from the Melbourne Storm RL club who are coming over to Leeds to play the Rhinos in Feb 2013 - Melbourne are visiting my school - they had heard of harrogate town and their cup exploits!

My (now grown-up) daughter has a 100% 'Win' record when watching Town.

She is coming with me on Saturday - Here's hoping we leave the ground with her perfect record intact.

48 hours from now we will playing the match!! Chib will just have scored our second goal, and I'll be starting to relax a little. Mind you on Saturday I will only relax if we are 5-0 up with 2 minutes to go. Now its just a question of getting through the next day and a half...not that I'm obsessed or anything

I almost wish the pitch was in more doubt. At the weekend I could stay calm with the thought "ah well it probably wont be on". Calm doesn't seem to be an option now.

I have been encouraged by my Manager to take tomorrow as holiday from work due to the fact I am sat here doing absolutely nothing but dreaming and also take Monday off to come down from a dream weekend and ale inflicted illness !
