Although it’s a night game it looks like there are still public transport options for Park Avenue fans to get to Harrogate & back home again after the game!

We’re still top, but we have actually only won 2 of our last 7 home fixtures!!!!!!

Interesting stat. Hadn't realised that. Based on the last two matches it could well be true. we are now entering 4 months or so of potential bad weather, not so suitable to our passing game (even at home). Some evidence of that on Saturday. If its skill v brawn in these months brawn usually wins out! Our little guys v big guys strategy worked OK up till now, now it will be put to the test.

Can't say I'm too disappointed at missing the game (short break planned), especially with the risk of sharing a train with the numpties!

Still, good luck Town. I think we really need a win to give us and the team a boost.

Glad of a point in the end but should have had the game sown up in 1st half. We were asleep at start of 2nd half again giving them another headed goal. When will we ever learn? Falkingham had a super game but having just returned from suspension our captain should have been sent off in 2nd half for kicking out at the Bradford player whilst on the floor.
The game was played at a frantic pace and our play is not producing the goals it should. Nelson really put himself about but has he ever scored? Leesley still thinks Ainge is at the back post to head in his overhit crosses and I'll not mention his penalty miss which was vital last night. Vital game Sat at Alfreton where we normally don't do very well.
Its starting to look a bit worrying because we should be well clear at top of league.

BRADFORD PARK AVENUE Empty Bradford Game

Post by Crossan Wed Oct 25, 2017 9:13 am

Agree with the comments made by Garage. We should have had the game won first halt, second half was very disappointing, we need to more direct in the final third of the pitch. Falkingham had a good game but lucky to stay on the pitch, the rest of the midfield were below par and I do not think Agnew is good enough at this level, he should have come off instead of Thompson. Very worrying the number of headed goals conceded, we have up until now been very tight at the back.
Its going to be some weeks before we get Ainge, Kerry and Parker back and I hope we do not become adrift at the top in the next few games. This is a tough league with teams in the bottom half capable of beating teams above them.
The BBC showed that last nights two fixtures in Vanarama North were postponed, I wish they had been!!!!

Well that's the end of three thoroughly frustrating home matches so must now hope we can keep up our fantastic away record. Plenty of possession and pressure but not nearly enough end product. I am struggling to remember the BPA keeper having to make any significant saves from direct shots whereas Belshaw could have been a candidate for man of the match for his saves. They also crashed a beauty against the bar while our efforts were high wide and not at all handsome. Ironic that BPA (and Gainsborough) scored a typical Simon Ainge goal, finding unmarked space on the left and heading back into the top corner.

To much tippy tappy football, need to be more direct at top end of the pitch but teams have figured out we haven't replaced ainge as a target man so are happy to sit in let us have the ball and heaps of possesion and let us try and break them down which unfortunately we aren't good enough to do, Macca will know how we're going to play on Saturday and will set up according I can see us struggling to get 3 points again.

Leesley really struggling, his stats flatter to device always seems to me that he's looking constantly for that 'hollywood' pass or that bit of skill that looks amazing instead of getting his head up and doing the simple things well which when he does them he's a fantastic footballer, maybe a bit of complacency creeping in as he knows we don't have anyone else in our squad to play left side of midfield?

Agnew can't really pick a big floor in his game but never seems to boss or change the game for us, he's your 6.5/10 every week kind of player, but is he good enough to drive us into automatic promotion?

Thewliss all out of sorts and desperately missing a physical strike partner to work off, not his fault but when we've needed him to stand up and be counted he's not really fufilled the role, I still stand by my view we should of tried to re sign Paul Clayton he would of been perfect, although I don't see him as a CF if Swain is going to be fit before Ainge throw him up top to make thewliss life easier.

Have you forgotten Belshaws two great saves and the shot that hit the bar, all in the first half.

Really entertaining game which could have gone either way, completely different to the cup-tie here when they parked the bus and never had a shot at goal.
They now have both Salford and Blyth at home and could do us a favour but I doubt it.

Have you forgotten we must have had 75 percent possession in 1st half. Listen to Simon's disappointment at not having sown it up in 1st hal

Possession means nothing if most of it is in your own half. Shots on target get goals which, in the end, wins games.
