AFC Fylde Saturday
This Saturdays game against AFC Fylde will give us a positive impetus for the remaining fixtures if we can beat them. Town have my support even though I am downunder. Hopefully our fans at the game can give that little bit more and carry the team to a great win. C'mon Town!!!

A great chance for players to show they are worth full time contracts for next season and a win would be a huge boost to our lingering play off hopes.

Re: AFC Fylde Saturday
Pretty hard to predict what will happen Saturday, you would expect us to beat Gainsborough and Alty comfortably and then struggle at darlo and look what happened, I suspect most of the squad have already been told if they are being retained next season already, that shouldn't be a motivating factor anyway as surely if there not staying they should be trying there hardest to impress any potential club they might play for next year.

Really looking forward to this. The one thing I hope is that acquit ourselves well in front of a big home crowd. Strong team out and let's see how good we are up against the runaway leaders!

Re: AFC Fylde Saturday
Of course it would be a coup if we could win but, as we can't expect to go up now, the most interesting stat of the game today will be the crowd.
I'm hoping the size of the crowd will indicate that, although we've made no progress (maybe even gone backwards) on the pitch, off the pitch we have made good strides !
A crowd of 1200 with about 150 from Fylde, would be some achievement.

I080 odd in crowd. If that's the best fylde can do, as the best team statistically at this point in the division, they played like they'd only just met each other in the car park. Christ knows why there fans were celebrating clawing out a draw.

Re: AFC Fylde Saturday
We were the better side on the day and clearly won on chances. Really enjoyed our performance and we saw a fair bit of playing on the ground which was good to watch. Cannot even complain about Parker for a change.
Thought Agnew did well and lasted 90 mins.

Agnew was a relevation. Top performances all round which makes the result all the more frustrating. Still say we need some more signings of real quality. Thought Thanoj had a good game and with Ellis and JP fit think that maybe our strongest line up!

Re: AFC Fylde Saturday
Two big decisions went against us today, but the performance was superb. Aingy's hat trick secured the man of the match, but anybody could have picked it up today. Agree Agnew looked a good signing. Over a 1000 again showing the support is still there and just one defeat (Gainsborough ????) in ten now. How they are clear at the top is a mystery on today's performance - a joke of a decision to give their keeper a free kick when he is fouled by his own player and a dubious penalty for their equaliser. Can see how they shipped five at Salford a few weeks ago.
I think their chairman will need to spend a few more thousands to keep them up next season, but then again, he probably will.

Hard to take giving up that late goal. I thought we were brilliant, should have won it. Feels like a loss, but what a great performance! Agnew is CLASS, roll on next season with him on board. Ainge is a.phenonona. like Swain but JP surely has to start now. How come.Fylde are 10 points clear? Great afternoon, Town were great but we should have won!!

Re: AFC Fylde Saturday
Apart from loosing the ball to allow them to create a chance in a dangerous area for their 2nd and not being close enough to Rowe for their 3rd don't think we put a foot wrong. Fylde really disappointed on that showing. They'll still go up but by Christ they need to ship some players out. Daniels very peripheral and Rowe was kept quiet.

Typical! One game I can't get to and we seem to have put on a great show. Well done Town!

I think fylde helped us look world class by playing like an under 13 cub pack. You'd have honestly believed that they were being paid to kick the ball off the pitch as quickly as possible!

Re: AFC Fylde Saturday
A good performance yes, but what do we come away from the game with? The same as when we were shambolic at Alty! 1 point!!! If we have any real genuine hopes of getting into the playoffs we need to be winning and putting away games and getting 3 points! Yes we played well a lot better than most weeks but we failed again to put away numerous chances and didn't win! They had 3 chances scored 3 we had 10 scored 3 there's the difference between 1st and 9th
Also another inept display by the officials they seem to be getting worse week by week, never a foul for our 1st disallowed goal, a awfully soft pen, and how he didn't send off there lad for deliberate handball for our 3rd was baffling

Re: AFC Fylde Saturday
Understand where you are coming from TC but you slightly contradict yourself in your second paragraph. The two major decisions gave Fylde a two goal swing, hyperthetorically we would have scored four and they would only have scored two. A different (better) referee and we would have won against a side who have only lost four games.Top Cat wrote:A good performance yes, but what do we come away from the game with? Re: AFC Fylde Saturday
Leaving yesterday's game, I am unsure of where this performance has been all season. A game plan was evident, there was commitment from the players from start to finish, quality attacking play. But again, where has this been all season? Hopefully if we play like that next season we might be thinking of the national league as a genuine possibility.

I agree. Thirls is a man possessed. Been there at the highest level, coached at higher levels and is a top bloke. The passion he brings to the PDC needs to be seen to be believed. Also think SW needs a lot of credit this season as he's taken gambles and had to adapt systems and personnel. Remember the flack he got when he put Ainge up front first couple of times round.

He put him up there because we had nobody else! Yes it's worked and a good job to or we'd be right in the more, don't forget he's also played other players out of position and it's not worked well!

Re: AFC Fylde Saturday
You could I guess say that goals wise Simon has been lucky two seasons in a row. Last year Daniels had a once in a lifetime freak season, this year Ainge has amazed everyone ( himself included I guess, by his amazing, and fantastic, goal scoring feats. But neither of them is a specialist striker. In that area we keep falling short. Not complaining, but still... can't keep happening!

Great performance by Town. Unlucky not to win. Anonymous performance by Daniels.

Only thing Daniels did was deliberately kick the ball point blank at our defender to get the penalty. A mistake by the ref to give the penalty.
