Not sure why Clayts got a yellow! He was only trying to retie the lads shorts with his size 12's. Seriously, how is he meant to untangle himself? Also not sure about the challenge immediately after Daniels yellow. A long way off but it didn't look pleasant. Agree about Kerry as well, good driving runs forward, best I've seen him play all season and Rowe maybe the difference, but he did a lot of defensive duties as well, rather than wandering about with his hands in his pocket. Very good player in an average team.

Did know Hearn was at the presentation evening. If he is fit ( or half fit!), he surely has to play on Sunday doesn't he?

Hearn was definitely at the presentation evening but he's most probably injured.

I saw last night's game through similar eyes to Carefree.
Swainey, despite huge commitment, is not up to it when the likes of Fylde come to Town.
Weaver seems to be dribbling over Knowles as a striker - complete misconception from what I've seen in the past few games.
Emmett up front - he's a f****g winger Simon - you must be desperate!
Clayton's effort was superb but ...... Well let's just say no one knows in which direction his headers will go. For me Ellis,as usual, a bastion of defence, and Kerry a good game. Burrell looked slick when he came on - I'd find a starting place for him on Sunday.
Daniels is hyped up to be sensational-to be fair, his corners are sublime and he can score a goal out of nothing, but in between corners and spontaneous goals - ok sometimes huge contributions to the game - what else does he bring to the table: a negative team contribution from him last night?
Unsure about Thewliss - he didn't seem to get the run of the ball last night, anyway sounds like he won't feature Sunday.
I'll be at Fylde on Sunday. We still have a chance. But credit to afc fylde, they're a bloody good side, bore down on us instantly last night and fully deserved their win. If we do get to the final, I'll have to swallow my doubts about Crooks' irratic performances this season - he was the real deal last night immense in every department (sorry, but can't resist saying 'apart from place kicking the ball straight into touch several times!').
We can still do it.

Make or break now, but still a successful season.
Depending how it goes, if we don't go up target has got to be to improve our win ratio in 16/17 season and go for automatic promotion, whilst also enhancing and strengthening the squad. We will know by 1730 on Sunday which way the cards have fallen.

They were well set up and looked sharpe around the box and Crook with some sublime saves kept it respectable, could have been three or four. Like you I have had a few moans at some of his positioning and clearances leading to some clear goals this season but he is starting to be more and more regular at these types of performances. With experience he is turning into a real find.
Would like to think they can do it but the beautiful fluidity that saw off Moors and FC to the tune of 11 goals and seen at points earlier in the season has gone, if we were going to find it against decent sides it would have shown last night. We couldn't ever have expected the goals and creativity to be coming from purely our midfield and full backs (when we had young Mason playing - what is all that about by the way!). Now we are paying for our long time ills up front. Never resolved and is so damn frustrating.
We were this season one, maybe two players (if you don't count Mason) or so away from a great promotion side. Next season, the division will be stronger by far. So we will be 4 or 5 players short (counting Daniels deprature). Summer will be interesting, as the club must know the bar has raised a fair bit with Kiddy, 'fax and Altrincham down and Salford and Darlo up. Nuneaton will be pushing to improve, Tamworth maybe - Stockport will surely now kick on. Fylde full time next year so again will push. Boston will be a tricky one too. 8 or so teams who will all be a very reasonable prospect.
So yes one goal down.....BUT that was more to Crooks brilliance last night than our chances on Sunday.
(cheers by the way rangerider)

Assuming we stay down who would you keep? Kerry for sure, Ellis and Sheils and Turner, Thirwell unless he retires, Emmett (uni permitting),Colbeck, Thewlis (tho needs to start scoring), Daniels, if he stays, Platt, Burrell, Crook. Needed: left back,3rd centre half (Foster?), and two strikers who can score! Have I missed anyone out?

Daniels will be off for sure but agree with all of those. Never thought I would say this but wouldn't mind Clayton staying on, that said I would imagine Thewlis will stay so still space for two more forwards. Left back totally and as you say another CB for cover but might be Coates and two wingers. But the two strikers and two wingers would need to be starters or at least toe to toe in ability with what we have.
That said wouldn't mind seeing more of next season Worrall.

Just an observation - are we a little bit too honest - Fylde "bought" numerous free kicks in dangerous positions. - we have the best free kick specialist in the division - suggest we start "buying" a few ourselves. Fylde were undoubtedly the best team but the referee, very experienced, was disappointing to say the least

Hopefully Fylde might live to regret not putting the tie beyond our reach. Will almost certainly need a second man of the match performance from Crook and improved performances from almost everyone else.

Regarding our 'vacancy' at left back, anyone know what happened to McWilliams? He played the first 18 games (not badly, I thought) but then didn't feature after mid December and seems to have disappeared off the radar altogether. Did he move on?

McWilliams has been warming up prior to our last 2 matches, went on loan to Whitby, not sure but may have picked up an injury. He was also at the presentation evening along with Hearn.
Wouldn't mind keeping hold of Hearn next season but would need to prove his fitness!!

What a strike force that would be sick note (you do know his history don't you - if you do an interesting statement to make about Hearn) and bench warming Mr shots&goals.
If we haven't learnt from the failure of these two (for different reasons) and the direct impact it has had on our very genuine chances of promotion this season then that is a surprise.
Thewlis and Clayton by all means should hopefully stay but not these two. Please!!!
McWilliams was a surprise (was there any explanation for him suddenly being dropped and moved out?) in the first place that he suddenly got sent out to Whitby, odd but covered by the brilliant Mason lad. Hopefully he will do a Kerry and come back storming, god knows we need it in that position.

I'd love Hearn to make a success of himself at Town. Bag a hat trick or get us the goal that gets us into the playoff final and he'd soon have a song about himself. Don't know what's happening but town have got a proud record of supporting folk through injury so suppose we'll have to see.
Load of marquee signings would certainly signify intent for the coming season but they've all got to muck in and add to the work rate across the team.

Boston choked 3-0. We lost 2-1 (aggregate). Ferriby/Flyde final.
Very proud of the team for what they have achieved this season. Simon will have learnt so much this season as a manager and about himself. I'm sure he will be gutted, but on reflection, he should be very proud of his achievements this season. He has done very well indeed.
As it is now officially season over, I hope all the players and the staff have a good and enjoyable summer. Come back rested and ready to smash this league up next season.
For the players who will be not be at the club next season, then all the best for the future.
For the players who will be here next season, we now expect the playoffs as bare minimum now. You have set the standard we expect. Be very proud of your achievements this season.
And a special mention to all the volunteers at the club and the 1919 staff, the club would be nothing without your hard work and dedication.
Onwards and Upwards.

Yes. I'm sad but also proud of our season we have had. 1) reached the play offs 2) had a decent cup run 3) crowds increased 4) ground keeps looking better 5) club and fans all in it together. Sounds good to me. Anyway, National North better league than the Premier next year!!

Honestly can't fault the lads or the tactics and 1st half honestly thought we'd do it. Superb stop from Crooks for the pen, thought we nullified a lot of flydes threats first half and had them rocking. Second half, they changed it around and we just didn't get in and around their 18 yd and what a chance in last few minutes to nick it.
Still, a successful season and wholeheartedly agree with TheNeil and Paul.
The bar has been set, 80 pts next season and an improved goal tally across the team.
Thanks for a top effort Harrogate Town, from supporters who made the atmosphere, volunteers who make it happen, and to the team who never stopped trying. Forza town.

Thought we were great 1st half and should have been at least 3 goals up- their goal was an unstoppable effort and was totally unexpected- It was a change to have a decent ref who actually gave us our share of fouls- We know we should be in that final next Saturday but it was not to be- role on next season when with a bit of look we will be there.

Get the negative over with quickly - we lost the play off at our place with the wrong tactics and style of play. Now for the many positives - today SW got the right tactics, changed the personel a bit and the shape and it worked a treat. I never thought we were out of it today until the final whistle went. Well done to every single player. They never gave up, played with pace and determination. Special mentions though to Crook for the penalty save and to Danny Ellis, who was awesome at the back - one of the best displays I've seen him play this season. Fantastic returns for McWilliams, Knowles and Cadman. All three played with bags of energy, commitment and composure. Although a disappointing outcome today, there is lots to be excited about for next season. Onwards and upwards!

Fantastic effort from every player.Everyone gave 110% .Really thought after we equalized we would go and win this game. They were really rocking in the first half .Still although I'd like to be playing NFU next week, we should be proud of just how far this club as come on.They must have been 300 there today easy , fantastic turn out.
My first season watching Town and its been great.Cant wait for the new season to start .
Well played.

Not sour grapes from me but how have fylde got a spanking new ground when they only got 1300 through the gate for this game, 1) it's a playoff 2) if they lose last home-game at the ground and 3) town must have taken 200+ with everyone counted and made it a right atmosphere, oh and 4) we got 1700 on a wed and still out sung them and they say the gate is not a footballing town!
They'll be rattling round like peas in a drum in that swanky new place! Should rip it from its moorings, transport it over to us and dump it on Pannal golf course so some real fans can appreciate it!
Ps stood by the away dug out. Couldn't get more passion out of SW and Macca if you tried. Continually encouraging the players and driving them on. Be proud of your work and efforts, treat yourself and the lads to a week off in Filey, then in carefree's immortal words #wegoagain.
