Two poor performances today. No real chances for either team. They stopped us from playing like we have. Think Tuesday will be very different.

Would start Kerry ahead of Nyoni and Thewlis over Colbeck.

Only one game so not too upset but it seems very like last season. Worrying. At least fylde and Telford lost too. Roll on Tuesday. Some goals please.

Not without a prolific striker neither of our strikers as good as they are will get that 25 + goals we need to get to the play offs, also i see from the website we are making excuses already (the heat. slippery pitch. the referee. nerves) this result could cost us over 100 fans for our first home game

Both teams cancelled each other out today on a tiny pitch...Brackley wont let in too many goals this season their whole team were solid defensively. Crook only made one save in the first half so don't know what their commentator was watching. The goal was poor defending and we livened up when Thewlis came on - he needs to start on Tuesday!

Must admit I was disappointed to see us resorting to long ball, I thought we were trying to build on some good play in pre-season obviously not on today's showing.

Very disappointed in Simon today with selection and tactics- Long ball game with only one of front 2 able to head the ball- We need to play more to feet to use the wide men more-the front 2 getting very little service- Nyoni was superb today but places need to be found for Thewliss and Kerry- We seem to have too many coaches in the dugout possibly giving confusing advice to the players- Just what does Macdermott do now? He seems surplus to requirements

Disappointing start after the big build up and excitement surrounding this season. Still only 1 game, let's hope we can push on and pick up our first 3 points on Tuesday.

Would've brought Thewlis on a lot earlier and before Daniels. And believe we'll be a lot more solid when we get McGurk back, hope it's pretty soon.

Brackley away was always going to be tough as our H2H record isn't too favourable as the last 5 were 0-1, 0-1, 5-0, 2-2 and 0-1. I'm not looking too much into the result as it would be a lot fairer to judge the team after ten games.

Certainly no need to panic, but disappointing nonetheless. After we played such expansive, flowing football in those victories in pre-season (and yes I know it was pre-season), it sounds as tho' our performance was flat and lacking in quality. Wasn't there so can't really say if this is true or not. Still, only about 30 hours before we have a chance to put things right.

Getting beat 1-0 in the last few minutes away to Brackley is, I suppose a forgivable start. But we need to play attractive football at home and if possible notch up a few wins. I would prefer us to go for wins even if we let in a few goals. We need to play good football and get decent attendances. I just hope we don't have another dreary season or its Leeds or York for me.

    Haha! Cute.

I love the naivety of this place. Great pre-season, going great off the pitch, great squad of players now, all the bad apples are gone, there's a different feel to it this time etc etc. All of you conveniently forgetting the one constant common denominator in Town's failings...

One result in and here we go again......

God knows what will happen if we fail to get three points this evening.

At least Leeds did not lose for you Lishke!

I have been of the opinion for the last 3 years that Simon isn't good enough as a manager. The club ON the pitch will never progress or get promoted whilst Simon is in charge.

With regards to Gainsborough tonight. The H2H record is W1 D3 L1 in the last five games. I think tonight will be a tough, tough game, tougher than Brackley.

The defence will have to be on the ball tonight as Gainsboroughs strike force should not be taken lightly. In the midfield area, we are better than them so as long as we boss the midfield and the defence is on form, we should take all 3 points, but defence will be key.

So we lose a game and our celebrated thesbian is out from under his stone. Good win tonight so he has probably crawled back under it.
