Lol. I think it will be 4-0 Town. Walshaw and Kendall to both score.

Yes, need to see goals Saturday. Pre-season been OK so far, but we've invested in strikers, so need to see them putting the chances away. Keep it down Ryan, please!

My forecast of raining goals was safely well off the mark
Very disappointed with Lenighan who didn't seem to want it at all today
Kendall looks well off the pace, Worsfeld has no confidence in front of goal
Distinctly average in midfield - and the keeper beaten once again at the far post with a scuffed shot

Give Rowe, Dean and Crook a decent run out and let's hope that Speight gets fit soon because we have little creativity and decisiveness in midfield or up front

First time I've seen Town this season and you've summed it up pretty well really. Plenty of play without really troubling their GK too often apart from a 15 min spell in 2nd half. Plan A worries me as its not won a game yet (apart from Leeds u18's). Question is do they have a plan B. On today's evidence the answer must be NO. Rail worked really hard all over the pitch, but without being disrespectful to Rail, Town will play a lot of sides who will give them more trouble going forward. 433 leaves a lot of space on the wings if the wide men in the front 3 don't work back. A couple of times in the first half Rail got 2v1 but didn't use the advantage well enough. Sides in the Conference North will. Interesting Season coming up and first five games won't be easy. I will be very worried if Wally gets injured as he the only one who shows any composure when in and around the box. Kendall wants to score so much he is snatching at chances and trying too hard and Worsfold, I don't think, has ever been an out and out Goal scorer. A big budget, how will the season go? Don't look 2nd favourites to me.

Yes but what a superbly taken goal by Wally !

Maybe send a video of our 5 successful penalties to Hodgson as a training exercise?

Why to Hodgson? Can't remember Hodgson's England needing practice or advice on Penalty Shoot Outs??? They were far too poor to even get to the Penalty Shoot Out stage. Having said that 9 great pens apart from the last one.

ok we have a few weeks to get things right because at the moment it just ain't working, i was more optimistic last season at this time as i am now, where was the goalfest we where all looking forwards to? on paper we have the best strike force in the league but we are having trouble finding the net maybe we need to change the system we are playing not sure about the 4- 3- 3, i thought Walshaw and Kerry where our best players today but overhaul a poor display today and yes it was hot and the pitch was bone hard and the ball was bouncing higher than it should bounce  but we need to improve and Simon if plan A is not working you need to implement plan B thats if you have a plan B

I agree with the gunslinger. Things aren't gelling at the moment. The narrowing of the pitch and the summer ins & outs have been specifically geared to the 4-3-3 idea. What happens if 4-3-3 continues to be less than effective is unclear. It would be a massive call to go for the narrow pitch (which can't be reversed all season) based on what we've seen so far.

Hard to comment on yesterday's game as was too busy running around after my two year old. What was obvious is that Walshaw offers that bit of quality in front of goal. Ash was through on goal in the first half and hit it at the keepers legs whereas when Walshaw was in the same position, he lifted it over the keeper. I am with RR on this one where I am not as optimistic as I was last season and concerned that if we cannot get the 433 formation to work, do we have a plan B.

One thing is for sure.....we have five quality penalty takers. Good practise should we be in that position in the FA Cup/FA Trophy.

There was never any doubt about the penalty shoot out! Superb set of five! All taken with cool aplomb.

Yes, really good photos Craig, enjoyed re-living the penalties! Agree with everything thats been said really. No doubt Walshaw and Kerry were the best players Saturday (more and more impressed by Kerry every time I see him), and Walshaw's 100% committment (and superbly taken goal), was a highlight. Great signing and more than just for his goals. Hopefully Kendall putting the pen away will give him more confidence. Likewise Walshaw.

Have to agree that if the WWK 'masterplan' doesn't work, we could be in serious trouble. Well, in under two weeks we will begin to have the answers. I'm not exactly panicking yet...plenty of time for that in the weeks to come!

Thanks Guys! considering I am more your sci fi convention media person, taking pics of running players was something different, and the heat on the day didn't help, but in truth, massive massive thankyou to Peter Arnett for helping me and giving me tips, and indeed, without his guidance, I wouldnt have done so well.
