We have Gainsborough Trinity in the 4th (Qualifying) round, after they beat Leamington tonight with 2 late goals.

We would have made thousands ££££££

Already knocked 4 past us this season & also knocked Spennymoor Town out of the FA Cup @ Spennymoor!!!

Yes going to be tough. Home advantage should see us through but we will have to be near our best. Great opportunity to reach the 1st round tho' let's take it!

Devastated with result today. How much did we miss the calming influence of Ben Parker today. In games like these, it doesn't matter where in the Table they lie, you need all the experience you have. G/T were always going to be up for it after a great win in last round. Even at h/t and one up, I still new it was going to be tough. Several players weren't at there best today unfortunately. What a chance to meet one of the big guns from L1 + L2 in next round. Gutted is putting it lightly. Well played stand in captain Faulky, the heart beat of the team today, was the stand out by a long way.

Yeah that's FA Cup for you. If you don't take your chances (how many did we have, I lost count) you get results like this Trinity had two efforts on target and scored on both occasions.
Good look to them in the next round and their relegation battle, they are a good well run club.

Jack had a poor game.
Leesley needs to start practicing his free kicks and crossing. He's getting praise for his assists but he's not that good.He missed 2 headed sitters in the 1st half also.
We are finding it harder to score each week even though we have plenty of possession.
Our build up play allows our opponents to get back behind the ball.
We still have not solved the problem of Ainge being injured and Thewlis is taking a real battering up front. I feel sorry for him it's not fair to him.

Really disappointed. I love the FA cup, really thoightt we were on course for the First Round and who knows who we might get. Based on the last two home games I've seen our league position seems surprising. We passed it around to no good effect today. Tough in Thewlis but he has to start scoring. Next week vital, can't afford to start a slump.

The problem with our lack of height up front showed today - any high balls just gave their (good) keeper catching practice. Suggestion - sign Graeme Armstrong, a powerful header of the ball and proven goalscorer, at least on short term loan until Ainge is back. That is unless he's been snapped up already by one of our rivals.

Armstrong must be a pensioner by now

Bad result and with the Tannoys on Wetherby Rd side set at maximum volume and playing distorted ear piercing noise the whole day was pretty rotten. Harrogate Town are not a tall team and crosses into the box were generally caught by their goalkeeper . It's a pity it wasn't an away tie as we would probably have beaten them on Gainsboroughs nice wide grass pitch . Very disappointed today , wish I'd gone shopping with the Mrs.

Thompson I thought had a decent game and came more in to central midfield, we should have pushed Emmett out to the wing because he was running up against a brick wall in central midfield. Also Leesley is having a bad run of form at home at the moment.
Lets hope we get this game out of our system as the next two home games are vital.
Would be good to get Kerry back, I am not impressed with Agnew.

You right about a slump, which is a bit ludicrous really as only lost a couple o games all season. If we win next week, all will be roses again and yesterday done with. How long b4 big Ainge'y is back , anyone heard?

Think with Parker out and O'Hanlon in we need some extra protection with probably Vann as the holding player. Agree Thewlis is struggling at the moment so Curry could be an answer but poss push Thewlis out wide with his pace and bring Thomson is behind Curry?

In answer to a previous post, Armstrong is 34 - about the same number as the goals he nets each season.

Nice one A1 Drifter! I must confess I am surprised that Town only seem to go for (very) young loan strikers as our cover, and then hardly play them. Probert seems over matched and I guess the jury is still out on Curry. It must surely be possible to find experienced strikers out there that we could acquire. The transfer window doesnt apply to us, I believe. Its not as though money is a problem for us. Why not try and bring back, for example, Liam Hardy. He scores regularly for Buxton, just one league below us. Adam Clayton seems to be doing well for Farsley, and even (dare I say it) our friend James Walshaw! Banging the goals in for Farsley.

I just think we are either serious about promotion or not, and if we ARE then the scrabbling around for strikers just seems bizarre.

Yes, absolutely agree. I know people say move on, and I (mainly) have, but as you say what an opportunity we would have had to make progress...the fabled 3rd round and Harrogate Town v Chelsea (e.g) would have been a step closer. If nothing else we would have had a three week build up, excitement growing etc. And ask yourselves: when are we going to get 4 (I repeat 4) home draws in the FA Cup again? Not for a long time I expect.

OK, OK, its gone, move on and all that, but what a sickener. If Gainsborough get to the third round I might need counselling!

Didn't go Saturday, I know we have editors power to make us look good in highlight packages, but was that a true reflection of the 1st half? If it was game should of been out of sight, and it's staring to look like we're really missing ainge

Should have been at least 2 up. Unusually for me ( I am a born worrier ), I was quite relaxed at half time, didn't see that coming at all. Their goal after about 50 seconds felt like a kick in the solar plexus and we never recovered. Which itself is worrying! I need a good win on Saturday to help my recovery process!

Oops! Not a very clever prediction by me. Slough must be a good side (wonder what we would have done against them?) and I hope they get a decent draw in the next round.

Sour grapes I know, but I was chuffed to bits to see Trinity get thrashed on Saturday. Made up a little bit for b...y Salford scoring a 93rd minute winner. Could have done without that. 4 point gap now (game in hand for us I know), but we can't let them get away.
