Time to stand up and be counted.....

Ten games back Town were running away with second place and nailed on favorites for the play-offs, they were the only team to give it to Solihull and there was a real air off this is finally our time. Even six games back, Town had it all to lose, a far superior points advantage and goal difference to all those around, adding to the fact that nearly all the front runners had to play each other at some point and even Town couldn't mess this up.
And now here we are on the final game of the season needing a win to mathematically secure a play off place.

I personally thing they will achieve a win on Saturday and secure a play-off place, it is Corby we are playing

But im sorry, this last run of games has not been good enough, this should never be going down to the last game, yes we have had some injuries, and we have had a tough run of games but one win from six is unacceptable.

We all know football is a funny old game, and i can guarantee both Boston and Nuneaton will win on Saturday, that leaves us having to win. Yes, its Corby, dont worry they said..... so what money on Corby pulling off a draw on Saturday, its not impossible.

Know is the time for all the players to stand up and be counted, not just for this game, but if we do get to they play offs the games that lay ahead. On present form there is noway we are going to beat North Ferriby, Fylde or even Boston over to legs.

But like i said, the play-offs is a different beast, just get there. Then its pressure off. We have destroyed Solihull this season, so we are good enough.

Come on Town and do the Town proud.

Well said. Agree with every word. By the way Ferriby appear to have form at just the right, they scare me for the play offs. Their strikers actually score goals! Time for ours to deliver the goods. Two days to go...can I handle the tension....

It's going to be a tense Saturday afternoon that's for sure! I hope I can bring the good news to Twitter!!!! Cmon Town how hard is it to beat bottom of the league...

With a decent forward line i.e. one comparable to our play off rivals I honestly think we would have got Sollihull. The rest of the team was good enough.
The slip has been disappointing but come 14th May hopefully it will be but a tiny footnote in what will be a successful season.
We will all be up for it on the terraces and, I think the next match(s) the players need to give it all for the fans after a magnificent season for getting behind the team and the amazing growth in away support - surely a shout for some award due for Jordan to recognise this!

After the Nuneaton game away i was critical of the poor performance and the tactics given Nuneaton looked poor but was given to understand by people on here that it was a tactical masterclass. Just wondering if anyone has second thoughts now that we did not go out to get 3 points that night. It could really be an embarrassment come Saturday night if they are in the playoffs and we are not but I hope that does not happen.

Still maintain that was a good point. If we had lost they would now be above us.
The only embarressment will be if we cannot beat the bottom of the league side at home.

The big turning point was when we stopped playing football, around the time Thirwell was dropped from midfield. I know the strikers haven't been firing on any cylinders but at that time we played one up top and everyone seemed to be chipping in with goals. We have had two bleak periods this season, one right at the start and now and both have one thing in common. Even now we are hardly creating the chances for the strikers.

Getting Thirwell back in will create a calming effect on the other players and he will demand they pass it.

If we do manage to score early it is essential both players and supporters don't become complacent. Corby pulled back a two goal deficit at Stockport and beating us would no doubt be the highlight of their very disappointing season.

How would be feeling if Nuneaton had not been docked those THREE HUGE POINTS? To put things in perspective in the last twelve league games, about 30% of the season, we have won 2, drawn 5 and lost 5. Eleven points out of thirty six. Not exactly promotion form.

Hopefully Simon will have his strongest team available against Corby. Get the ballboys on the ball. We want the game to have a fast pace. Get the ball back into play quickly. Corby would love to screw things up for us. So lads don't get involved in any silly stuff because the verbals will be flying apart from the tackles!!

We know how well the team can play. We have a solid spine, individual players who can on their day rip defences apart and on his day the best keeper in the league. We have some diamonds who can win the game with individual brilliance. Having seen Flylde, Boston, Nuneaton and Ferriby home AND away this season I have not seen anything to make me believe we can't beat that lot. So come on Simon this is where you earn your money. Get them organised, get them believing and get them playing.
