Can We Get 1000 Down on Tuesday

Please can we make one last push to get as many u18s down as possible Tuesday night - adults as well! A big crowd would be a real motivation for the team and we all know what a little bit of momentum can do - great result today and good news on the goalie front - our number 2 Sam Cook had an outstanding game for Railway.

driving down from the Edunburgh Fringe on Tuesday afternoon for this game! I know there is a good crowd coming from Boston Spa and Tadcaster - we need a blitz on social media to spread the news? This is a team worth watching!

Vauxhall had a very good win against Gainsborough, so they won't be a pushover. Just hope we can get a good result, play some good football and retain some of the under 18s who will come down on Tuesday.

A team on paper you expect to win against but a team that will give any side in this league a difficult game!
Home results will prove vital this season if we are going to challenge the top sides!

After a really good win yesterday, a big crowd and another win would really give us some early momentum and set us up nicely. Let's hope we can do it.

More importantly, can we be a little less "polite" and a bit more "raucous"?

I spent quite a bit of time talking to various u 18s to do just that - bit of leadership from the younger generation will spur us oldies into action!!!!

Its quite a fickle one this, as we have never been a noisy set of supporters.

I'm hoping the U18s can raise their voice and give us older generation a bit of a lift!!

Yep a few more would have been nice. Such a warm, pleasant evening too. Tricky one really still being the summer holidays and that.

It's a Summer night, kids aren't in school, so we should have had more than 600+. How many free tickets did the club give out?? 6-700??

Personally, I think the attendance was pretty good for a midweek game, particularly taking into account its school holidays. The main issue was setting an unrealistic target of getting 1,000 people through the gates. Nowt wrong with being ambitious but 600-700 was always far more likely. Given that we were only achieving a few hundred last season, an attendance over 600 is pretty good, but the headline target was 1,000 so it sounds like the club failed, which isn’t the case.

I think it is because i am led to believe that the club shifted 700+ free tickets for U18s. If you add the majority of them to our regualar attendances (300-450, dependant on opponent) then that is why 1000 was a possibility for the club.

Still, 620+ was a good number, but as you state, it needs to be consistent.

Just to be totally clear - the club had a minimum objective of 500 supporters for this - 600 was our target with anything over 700 outstanding. Given the free posters we then tried to lever it up towards 1000 - nothing wrong with setting stretching objectives. For what it's worth we were pleased with the outcome and will continue to encourage more to attend on a regular basis - bear in mind Vauxhall brought about 8 supporters!
The refreshment facilities had their best ever take outside of the HAstings game last season and the hospitality and 1919 bar were likewise - let's call it a mini success:affraid: 

PR wise it doesn't look great when the headline is 'can we get 1000' and the answer is, no we can't. It wasn't a stretching target, it was an unrealistic one.

Usual motivational drivel from TS - if you read the heading it says can we get 1000 down and not our target is 1000.
