Quite apart from making history, the prestige etc. I think the winner of next Thursdays game (if it happens!), will make a small fortune. There is the £27,000 FA prize money plus half of the Boro' gate receipts. Now Boro' charge between £24/31 for adult tickets and the average gate is 15,000. Lets assume they only get 12,000 (sadly the FA Cup attracts fewer fans in the 'big leagues'), and, allowing for junior admissions etc. the gate receipts are 'only' £260,000. We (or Hastings!) get half of that: £27,000 plus £130,000 = £157,000. And I am being conservative with the gate receipt figures, it could be more. We better win it
I reckon we must already have made close to £100,000 so far, so these figures really are amazing. It means we should be able to manage in the future should the Weaver family, for whatever reason, decide to leave us.
