I was born in Putney, Fulham are my local team, and I started following them when I was 6 years old, in 1974, when my big brother took me to the Blackburn game.

My 13 year old son is following in my footsteps. I took him to his first Fulham match v. Cheltenham in the FA Cup a few years ago and since then he has been hooked.

Yet despite the relative success of Fulham in recent years, he is the only kid in his class who supports Fulham. All the other glory-hunters are a mix of Manu (loads), Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea (I guess the last lot is understandable given they are just down the road).

Ugh...

Hats off to the true supporters, rather than the plastic ones!
