I thought we looked quite good and i like how we are playing GOOD football we are passing into the strikers feet instead of hoofing it like last season. players that stood out were Ollie Ryan he looked top klass had great skill and we shudve scored when he took on 3 players and pulled it bak but number 8 fired over. i also thought the other striker up front was good think i heard people calling him jonno. i thought the defence looked very good especially bloomer and sturdy. and the right wing back had a lot of energy and got forward well. Woodhouse looked very good he didnt put a pass wrong all game he seemed to dictate the tempo. As for the keepers they didnt really have much to do the keeper in the 1st half had a scary moment from a corner which he went to collect but completely missed but other than that nothing else to comment on. The 2nd half keeper didnt even do anything during the game as we were attacking the whole 2nd half But he did make a couple of nice penalty saves. Now for the left back didnt think he looked that good during the game especially the 1st half didnt seem to have a right foot and looked very slow fast wingers would skin him easy but i will give him another chance he was number 3 anyone know his name ???
Overall quite impressed with the tempo we played at and especially impressed with ollie ryan he looked a class act. Pity about the result but it wasa good run-out for the team.

    Player Comments:
Viega - Didnt get much shots at him but when needed did well
Warren Burrell - Very impressed with him at the Right back position looked calm and collected and ran forward as much as possible.
But in the end a very boring game

    Woodhouse
    Weaver

Jon Mahoney was the centre forward on trial did ok but no pace

Bloomer looked good, Ollie Ryan was excellent, Woodhouse a class apart, great to see Sturdy back in a town shirt - presumably he will be captain

Would you seriously even think of watching Railway play? A bunch of shaven headed Sunday league players..... Ryan Haigh doesn't know if he is wanted at Railway.... heading back to Wakefield perhaps?

We were only allowed 17 players, apparently! Simon wanted to bring more to the game but railway "Says No"

Had a team sheet that also listed Leo fortune west?

Wonder if he will make an appearance on Tuesday night?

Looking forward to that one also.

Good to see Dan Broadbent still with us.

Whoopee, you lifted the Cup for the second time, well done.

Nothing but a training game really.

Didn't really see a Town fan sobbing his/her heart out because we lost?

Bragging rights to Rail for 12 months, I can personally live with that as I doubt we will play you on level terms, ever!!

    Live with that!!!

James Kay - Released from Sheff Wed
Zeph Thomas - Released from Rotherham Utd
Luke Durham - Released from Hudds
Danny Broadbent - Released from Hudds
Stephen Hernandez - Released from Sheff Utd
Very Impressed with the way we have brought some of the trialists from Football League clubs! And another good sign is that were looking for a back up keeper this year

Good to be at a match again, the game was pretty ordinary, but Town dominated the second half and should have won. Defence looked solid, liked the look of the number 2, Weaver and Sturdy looked solid at the back, Viega looked good, 2nd half keeper made a couple of good penalty saves. I'll reserve judgement on the strikers: Gent showed some nice touches, Mario was lively (any more info about him by the way?). Agree that Simon and Kevin looked calm and in control of things.
What a shower Railway were: a bunch of bruisers, constantly trying to intimidate the ref and linesmen. I used to quite like Railway in the past, but this bunch look a pretty unpleasant crew.
Looking forward to tomorrow evening: should be a stronger line-up, and we might begin to get some sense of how things are progressing.

Remind you of some of our lot last season? Glad they are gone - we are better off without them!

Most teams eventually become reflections of their managers ... Town have a side of footballers who will try to get the ball down and play. Railway couldn't wait to get off the pitch for a pint and a couple of fags.

This is what I was thinking as well. Always works for me on Football Manager Very Happy Gives the team a bit of youthful bite and even though they've been released, as long as their attitude is ok, then they will have something to prove (hopefully).

By the way, quick intro, as I'm new here. Am actually a Leeds fan, who has been exiled here in Germany for about 25 years. Always liked Neil Aspin as a player and started "following" Harrogate Town, when I started playing them on Footie Manager. I know as a Leeds fan, I'm open to abuse/banter, but keep it polite lads Cool
