Would seem like a bold statement of intent if true. Mind you that would make 5 centre backs on my count: Shiels, McGurk, Ellis, Brown and Foster (oh, and Coates!). OK so Brown is on loan. If true it would suggest the club is determined not to let shortage of quality players prevent the promotion push. Very encouraging, in my opinion.

Building a team to stay in the conf prem already....sounds like he was their best player, certainly their best defender so happy days......I hope he has some pace and considering McGurk's constant injury I thought it was an area we need to strengthen especially for a promotion push.

Can't wait to see the official confirmation. Hope he plays Saturday. I guess with McGurk's injury problems, we really only have two reliable, quality centre backs: Shiels and Ellis , so Foster will be number three, minimum number you need. Fantastic news.

He's Ellis's replacement if we go up, Ellis doesn't want to play 'full time' football, which I presume is a given if we get promotion, that's the reason he left guisley.

AND BY WHOM??? I said he was a great signing. Asked Ged if he could find out if the five cautions Luke had accumulated at Southport would effect his selection for us? Mentioned that Luke had played for a number of clubs and was therefore very experienced. Luke has also won promotion with a couple of clubs and captained Mansfield, I believe. He also had a driving issue in Nov 2013. Well documented on the internet. What was the problem???
