Martin L wrote:600 tickets sold to GTFC fans in the "segregated area". Great. The top turnstile is open to the public.

Without colours, how do you define a HT or GT fan ? The turnstile will want to take the money, get em through to ease the bottleneck which could happen.

To sell GT seats is an absolutely stupid idea. Surely HT would have sold that stand out. Why have segregation then ? Are those the GT fans allowed in the bar ? It beggars believe.

God help us when FC United turn up if we don't get switched on.

GT are a conference/league club who are used to getting away ends, all sealed off with a porto loo and burger fan, like when HT go to Stockport, been twice. You just get on with it.

    GT will be everywhere.

Sorry HT, we have made a mess of this.

My suggestion is this. When we have a big game with plenty of away fans, the board, hosted by Ged, invite the likes of Jordan, Trev, Neil and Kev, Dave and Andy (sorry if I have missed anyone, I only know their first names....you know who you are) to attend a meeting first to propose how the game should be hosted. Them fans make sense and are very well educated in how we host a game with plenty of experience going away and know what fans like and how to maximise the event.

Post by DBGTFC Wed Oct 21, 2015 2:15 pm

    Hi to all HTFC fans,

I am a GTFC fan, i was after some advice for the game on Saturday,
1- where is the best place to park as i will be driving and not on the supports coach?
2- what stand are we housed in as i have seen a few things about this and not too sure as our tickets say holberry sign stand?
3- local friendly pub to grab a drink or is there a bar at the ground for HTFC and GTFC fans?

    Regards

Park it in the Saints roads the opposite side to the ground across Wetherby Road – loads of suburban streets to pick from. Maybe try town before the game tonnes of bars or the Woodlands is a local that you will drive past coming from the A1 about 5mins walk up Wetherby road from the ground and hosted a load of LUFC when they played us they gave the pub the thumbs up.
You guys are in our new stand which runs the length of Wetherby road side of the pitch.
Food and soft drinks only in the ground, medicinal flasks needed if you want something stronger.

    So to be clear :

Grimsby fans can only get in if there are tickets available.
Harrogate fans can only get in if tickets are available.
We will be segregated except when we aren't in the main stand.

Grimsby fans still seem a little confused about the tickets on Saturday. It appears that that they are reading this forum so here is the simple version:-

Grimsby fans have 1200 tickets in the Stirling Motors stand. The Grimsby ticket office is currently selling these. If there are any left, they will be available, on the day, on a first come first served basis. If all 1200 tickets go, you won't get in. As such, we suggest you buy your ticket in advance to avoid disappointment.

Good luck to those Grimsby fans navigating by foot from Hookstone wood. Certainly one of the most scenic and 'typically' Harrogate approaches to a football ground for those fans Smile

    Gates open @ 12pm!
Sounds like Grimsby still have 500 tickets to sell!
The last pay on the day match we had here with fans locked outside the ground was in 1950 when 4,280 turned up!
    Surprised

HT fans go in at hospital end...............single turnstile?
For all, with and without tickets?
6 fans per minute, ie 10 secs to pay/show ticket, is 360 per hour.
1,000 HT fans will therefore take over 3 hours to get in.
(Never mind what is happening at the other end, for GT fans!)
I really hope I'm wrong, but this has me worried.
PLEASE...........Ged, Mike, Gary, is my interpretation of the situation wrong?

We managed to get 3,102 through the gates in July for an evening K.O. against Leeds!
Although to be fair there will have been more pre-sold tickets for that compared to the Grimsby game on Saturday!
    Free Brackley ticket anyone?

Last time I looked there was two turnstiles plus a small gate which could also be utilised.

It's been a while since Town fans were this excited about a game.

The ground will be rocking and should be an oppotunity to show what we are about and hopefully attract new fans.

    Afternoon Chaps and chapesses
Looking forward to the game tomorrow. Decided to drag my old man down and there was still a steady trickle of fans buying tickets this morning. I imagine around 800-850 will be the final figure. More than enough to drown you guys out, you're gonna have to be on top form but I very much doubt it.
Our away following is superb, I just hope one or two of the trouble makers don't travel and spoil what should be a fantastic result for us.
Very much looking forward to seeing Macca and giving him a huge reception and looking forward to visiting your town and ground. Non league football is where the passion and real fans live. You can shove your Premier league up the proverbial.
Enjoy the game and you'll have to wait until we pipe down before you get your singing in Wink

Our wall of noise at the Hospital end will be up for the decibel tussle! Hopefully you will be surprised at our volume - certainly per head of fan only FC united could challenge our elite squad of noise makers in our league!

I am personally looking forward to a rendition of the classic mariners ditty....."we piss on your fish"
