    Looking forward to this one.

What team would people play in the absence of Gazza. I really hope that Simon sticks with the same team and brings some one in to do Gazza's job rather than tinkering the team to bring someone like Walshaw in. Unfortunately, my preference for this role is currently out on loan.

In my opinion, this should be the 11:

First 11: Crook, Swain, McGurk, Franks, Turner, Emmett, Fallowfield, Nyoni, Bloomer, Clayton, Thewlis and Emmett.

Subs: Milligan, Killock, Rowe, Worsfold, Barnes

Common sense dictates this selection for me, because although I wasnt at the game, we still beat Chorley 3-1, even after Gascoigne come off (1-0 up when he come off). This would be my preferred 11, and Subs. No space for Walshaw or Speight. Get their wages off the books.

You've got Emmett down twice and we won 4-1.

    Townfan.

    Well spotted about Emmett.

When I mentioned 3-1 (That was the score we beat Chorley, without Gascoigne on the pitch).

If you read it more carefully, you will have noticed that I didnt count the 1-0 scoreline when Gascoigne come off. Showing that we can actually still play without Gascoigne.

I think the subs aspect is worth developing. You've selected a balanced bench there Neil. The bench against Chorley was (from memory) Bloomer, Rowe, Worsfold, Walshaw, Speight.

When Gazza came off Bloomer had to come on as there was nobody more appropriate on the bench.

Crook needed treatment on the stroke of half time. If he'd had to come off, things might have gone badly wrong (remember Stalybridge away last season?)

I hope Simon takes heed of these occurrences. We don't need 3 strikers on the bench, and it's only common sense to select a keeper in case the no.1 is sent off if nothing else.

Disagree a little there. Personally I would not have a sub keeper and would have Adam as he can cover a number of positions as well as Bloomer for the same reason. I would not have three strikers and would sacrifice Speight.

I would then recall Nelly and have him in the first 11 playing in Gazza's position.

Final sub spot I would give to Milligan.

Out of interest, who went on to the pitch to see to crook as I think Rach was with Gazza at the time. Do we have a sub physio?

It will always be the opposition Physio as far as I am aware. I think it's just a kind of 'gentlemen's/ladies' agreement if 1 Physio isnt available for whatever reason.

With Clayton's loan ending on Saturday (don't know the situation with Fallowfield) there could be more changes in the pipeline for Gainsborough next Tuesday.

Fallowfield is start of next week so Boston is potentially his last game for us.

I am under the impression he is under a second month's loan which ends on Saturday.
I have not seen anything else. Alfreton's site also states he is on loan until 28 Feb.

Paul Clayton is on loan until the end of the month: (Dated 31 Jan 15)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Ryan Fallowfield extended for a further month: (Dated 13 Feb 15)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Something needs to be put into place. The only way I can see it being possible is to sign Clayton on a permanent basis, and use another short term loan for Fallowfield, but with Fallowfield, it depends on how many loans Simon has used (i'm not too sure what the ruling is.....it may be 3 long term loans and 8 short term loans per season.......I could also be totally wrong??)

12 short term loans per season and 4 long term loans.
Short term loans can be extended up to a maximum of 93 days.

So, there is scope for Fallowfield and Clayton to extend then?

I'm hoping the club is currently working on this.....

At the Q&A, John McDermott suggested that Fallowfield has said he would love to stay at Town until the end of the season however ultimately, the decision was with Hull.
