Isn't the £42,000 the prize money, the £11,000 is extra. Don't forget as well we got two TV fees: one for the highlights re: Hastings and another for the live tranmission of the replay (sob). Anyone recall how much those TV fees were? We must have made close to £100,000 from the cup in total...plenty of money to spend on two quality strikers Simon

From what I gather, a lot of the FA Cup run money was put back into the club to resolve the ongoing pitch work and to improve facilities within the club. And after the amount of work done to the pitch, it would be a very sizeable chunk of the FA Cup money, plus what Irving had paid to originally level the pitch.
On the pther side of the coin though, I would also like to think that Simon does have a competitive budget for next season, which will enable him to sign a few strikers who can produce the goods.
I'm just now waiting to see who has signed, or is going to sign. That will be the real sign of intent by the club, dependant on the quality of player that signs, within limits.
