    Thoughts from last night

John Lamb - dodgy start, not helped by difficult wing but grew is stature and handling was excellent in 2nd half
Simon Harrison - a very quick player, strong in the tackle, worked exceptionally hard in defence and going forward
Leon Scott - could this be our weak link? Eastwood's scout last night will have seen Leon struggling at times
Curtis Woodhouse - terrific at closing down, one awesome 60 yard pass, I hope the rest of the midfield take inspiration
Simon Weaver - calm and collected, won loads of headers
Matt Bloomer - the jewell in the back four, composed throughout
Chris Emms - seems to be getting fitter and offers us good width
Jon Maloney - inspired by his former college team-mates watching from the main stand, not helped by the fussy referee
Luke Durham - knackered by the end, strong running - willing to take people on, given great encouragement by Simon
Dave McTiernan - adds steel to the midfield and some guile too
Brian Dutton - took time to settle into the game but he will give us some aerial power from midfield

All in all, a really encouraging performance - 324 isn't a bad crowd, but Town dont seem to have done much to promote the game and get people in ...surely we should be more proactive especially for juniors.

Fully agree with most of what you have wrote there Smile thought maloney deserves bigger praise he scored his goal brilliantly and started nearly every with his great holding the ball up and put so much effort in closing people down putting his body on the line for the team I THINK HS A KLASS ACT!

Agree that Leon Scottis sometimes a bit hesitant but im willing to give him few more games yet before i fully judge him.. Durham was a klass act he was roasting ther left bak everytime he got the pall and played a cracking ball for Emms which he just misjudged... And woodhouse is a klass aprt he pulls the strings and calms the play down when needed !!!!!

Brief Advertiser report here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which at least gives the impression that someone from the paper was at the game
