Well, why dont they just say that he is in currently in talks with Universitario? He is in Peru obviously and he is there to sign for Universitario. I doubt he is travelling and picking up shirts.

I really hope Simon Weaver has an ace up his sleeve to replace a keeper of his calibre.

I'm not surprised to be honest. Top flight football, professional contract, lucrative deal? Playing in front of 80000 crazy Peruvian fans each week? He would have been stupid not to accept.

I really do hope Weaver has got a surprise or 2. He should get Aaron Jameson back on loan for a season. Maybe even Lloyd Saxton or Denzell Louis St-Hamilton? Either of these keepers would be a good addition, or even a Loan keeper from League 1/2?

Doubt he'll be flying back from Peru for Saturday's game (!), so we are bound to see a new keeper (or two) on Saturday. Tell me more about these 'keepers you mention, Neil. I'm afraid to say I have not heard of them.

St-Hamilton was in goal for Vauxhall Motors when we beat them 3-0 in the first home game of the 2009-2010 season. He is a keeper that shows promise but hasn't delivered at lot up to now.

He has a big future ahead of him. I think I'm right in saying the first Englishman to play in Peru? His reactions on that video made me chuckle.

Aaron Jameson is currently Number 3 keeper at Sheffield Wednesday, and has been on loan at Harrogate Town in 2010.

Lloyd Saxton is an ex. Bradford, Woking and Vauxhall keeper who I believe is a free agent.

St Louis Hamilton was a former PL keeper for Stoke City, who also has had loan spells at Vauxhall, and has played for Darlington. He has also recently signed as the No. 2 keeper for Fleetwood.

Any of these keepers would be a good replacement for Cookie, even on a loan basis so Weaver isnt rushed into a stop-gap signing.

And some keepers arent allowed to have a bad day at the office? You tell me a keeper who hasnt had a crap game once in a while.

Don't believe that I said he wasn't allowed a bad day. Every keeper has there off days. I just know that Stoke had high hopes for the player and hopefully he will reach the heights that they set. Like I said, he shows a lot of promise.

Yes, he does show a lot of promise, and I believe that he would benefit a season of being a number 1. Any idea who is playing in goal against Knaresborough, as I'm safely assuming Cook isnt?

It appears that Simon has agreed the move.

    BBC Sport

"We're happy for him to go but we need things properly agreed.
"It's agreed in principle but we need confirmation and it done in an appropriate manner."
