Yeah agree with IB, great to see the core of the squad are staying, havent kept a squad together like this for a while.

Disappointed to see Picton leaving though, always gave 100% and I thought he was a solid player, also a lot of opposition fans rate him.

No mention of Richard Pell, any news on him ?

Hi guys 1st post on here so be nice. Anyone know the reason why Jake left seemed a class act at the back really enjoyed watching his work rate and commitment. Saw him play 2-3 times this season (a new boy at the Wetherby Road ground) and he looked very capable in the air and on the deck with a good understanding of the game. As i've not been to a lot of games i might be wrong but he certainly stood out as one of the better players and still very young

My twitter feed is telling me that a lad called Dwayne Samuels has signed as well.

P.S changed the topic title to squad list aswell so we can keep track of the current squad

Has signed from Worcester City, ex AFC Telford

Richard Pell is noticeable name missing from either of the lists - Bedlington Terriers?

Good to have some established players aged 21-24 coming into the squad (Samuels and Killock)

Welcome to the forum Gareth, Got to agree with you disappointed about Picton, he's young as well, so had a lot of potential and was a fans favourite but seemed to get gradually frozen out towards the end of the season for some reason.

Thanks for the update on Pell, hope he signs up, he's dominant at the back and has scored some vital goals for us this season when at times we were struggling to find goals.

I think Simon has made some really sound decisions here. I'm glad he has agreed to keep Radcliffe and Youhill especially.

I think he should get Chib Chilaka, Danny Stimpson, Michael Brough and Richard Pell signed up for this season, as we would then have a really strong nucleus, and the squad would only need tweaking. Maybe a new striker(s).

I dont think he should offer Paul Beesley/Liam Hardy deals, Beesley isnt up to the standard, and Hardy needs to get some games under his belt, when he gets fully fit, and with the squad building up the way it is, he would find it hard to get game time.

Disappointed that Brayson has gone as he is a natural goalscorer, but i'm of the opinion that was down to wages more than anything else.

Really building up to be an interesting pre-season so far. Just hoping that Weaver can produce the goods next season.

Yep, good to see us keep the nucleus of a team together, and Killock and Samuels add some youth. One criticism might be the age of some of the guys, but some youthful signings might counteract that. Good to see Matt Bloomer staying (4 seasons now), like others sorry (and puzzled) as to Jake being released. Also hope Pell signs. Still think we need (badly) a 20 goal a season striker, but then every team wants one of those! All looks very profesional and organised so far...well done.

He would be a good asset, if we can keep him fit and free from injury. He does need to get a yard of pace from somewhere though.

    ..............Cookie...............
    Samuels...Killock..????..Radcliffe
    Youhill...Adam..??...????..Meechan
    ..............Allan...............

Kept a lot of the lads together well it seems. Smile Think we will hopefully sign another center midfielder or two, and a defender or two (Pell hopefully), also need a striker!

Maybe Toner will come back? Tom Platt (loan) would be pretty good good.

We have the makings of a decent team there, White will certainly start (if fit) at centre back, hopefully with Pell alongside him. Samuels and Radcliffe as attacking wing backs. Killock, Nowakowski (if he recovers his form now he is fit), Youhill (or Elam) on the wing, another quality midfielder (can we get Turnbull back from Oz?), Meechan playing just behind the main striker and then (in my view) the main missing piece of the jigsaw, a 20 goal a season striker, which we badly need. Allan is OK, but I can't see him really being a regular goalscorer anymore, likewise Meechan. Could we get Armstrong back I wonder?
Agree that getting Tom Platt for a whole season would be fantastic. Either signed or a season long loan. Matt Bloomer is a quality player tohave 'on the bench', there are bound to be injuries and he can play in various positions.

This signing could enable Radcliffe to play on the left hand side of midfield!
Looked quite useful at times last season in that position.

Two or three more signings and we will have our squad, still need a 'proven' goalscorer in my view.

Interesting to hear that Simon has been talking to various strikers, but, according to the Advertiser website, 'will not be held to ransom' re:wages. Fair enough (Brayson was apparently on megs money last season), but a good striker is going to ask for decent money I fear. Might have to bite the bullet Simon, if you want a 20 goal a season man. Trouble is we don't seem to have many goals from midfield in our current squad.

The problem is Paul, that Simon is right. Some of the players we have been talking with want more than a lot of our players put together. Their wage demands are extremely more than excessive for BSBN level football!

However, Simon does have a lot more irons in the fire and hopefully one of these will come to something.

Keep checking the official website for more details on any new signings. Also news will be available on our Twitter and Facebook pages.
