Leeds United’s 1st friendly & before the start of the school holidays means they are likely to bring a good few down for this one!!!!

Ps. we knocked Leeds United out of the F.A. Cup back in 1920/21

But for some reason failed to play the FA cup game @ Harrogate which would have been scheduled for Sat 9th October 1920!
And played Sheffield Wednesday instead!

The tie was never played and Harrogate were awarded a bye into the next round!

Never happy that lot, remember them canceling a match before, Leeds Youth v Liverpool youth & that was when we played on grass.

Hope one of their players turns an ankle in a divot at thorpe arch.

Crystal Palace are happy to play on Maidstone Utd's 3G

and Coventry City are happy to play on Sutton Utd's 3G.

Leeds themselves are happy to send a team to play on Scarborough's 3G

At least the players will get to play the match still!

We must be playing on grass pitch there. the 3G installed at Thorpe Arch is of a lower quality then ours.

Only two days after we start training so, now we are making nothing and nobody allowed to watch it, we might as well call it off

Oh dear, this is all pretty embarrassing lol. We finally get a few good friendly's and then it gets cancelled due to the state of our "State of the Art pitch" you couldn't make this up even if you tried.

It seems Leeds were quite happy to play on our 3G pitch until their "medical team" advised against it. I must admit to being one of the supporters who queried whether the pitch played a part in some of last season's injuries. However, I felt reassured when Tamworth reported an unusually injury free season and I have seen nothing to suggest Maidstone, the most experienced 3G team, and Sutton have had problems.

You would have thought that somebody was aware of the fact that Town play on a 3G surface, especially with the close proximity of Harrogate to Leeds and the fact that Towns fan base is probably made up of Leeds fans anyway. So my point being, why did they not discuss this with the medical team prior to arranging the game? just a thought.

Any chance of finding out the result of this game, rather than relying on the Official site?

Still nothing on the 'official' website, last posting June 27th! Unbelievable isn't it? Anyone know who the new players were? Ben Pollock, McIntosh, Hallfield etc.? No use expecting anything from the club.

It is disgraceful the lack of news coming from the club.

Not a single mention about the Leeds game, I would have liked to know the line up and scorers at the very least, that would be about 3 lines of text, can't they even manage that? Bloody laziness is what I think, if not an explanation why there is no news being posted would be a start.

Even a link to news via the Twitter or Facebook pages would be useful.

Come on Town, get a grip and keep the fans up to date.

Thanks sulphurite. Still the most recent post (about the ladies team) on the club website is, would you believe, June 27th! Ten days ago. We are now a professional football club (apparently). Maybe someone should tell them at Wetherby Road.
