Just wondering whats this about an ongoing contractual issue?
I've not seen anything about this anywhere.

Not looking forward to the outcome either. Surprised it's been made public unless he can't contractually appear in the Cheltenham area?

It would be nice to just put out our strongest 11 and a good bench. Get Ellis back, can't play your leading goal scorer? Then lose Shiels after 20 odd mins.

His form had dipped in the matches leading up to the reckless sending off.
Have seen too many good forwards at town follow a similar pattern to not see this. As soon as the dip happened and realistic chances of promotion went happened at the same time. Yes team form in the whole dipped but his own play changed as well. Could see it and it is being shown to be something not right. Either in his own thoughts about his town role or with something the club may or may not have done.........when you look at the long list of good forwards who have either not performed, been poorly managed or have just not done the business there is form and a past to it.
Wouldn't necessarily slate the lad for being elsewhere without knowing the bigger picture given this background.
Club have shot themselves in the foot by the tweet. Yes, accept and like as a fan to know the reason that they gave but have backed themselves into a corner.
    We need him next season.

Agree we need him fit and firing to finish this season of strongly and hit the ground running next season. Hopefully a massive misunderstanding and all will be remedied prior to Chorley.

    Spot on.
Imagine him and the true positive of the season of the revelation that is Ainge. Many including myself got that wrong......and a succession of managers prior to SW.
That partnership would be daunting for any defence at this level. As before, we need him now and certainly next season.

As has already been mentioned on the Facebook group, he appears to have been at the Arsenal match. He put some videos from the game on instagram

He's never asked about anything controversial so no surprise!

Any updates? Any news on what is quite an important aspect of the starting 11?

A hard balling negotiation tactic used by Town? A desperate last resort to go public on it and push JP into a corner?
Or someone taking a **** with their clothes on, yet again, at Town and dropping a clanger?

Either way a textbook, out of depth Town approach to following up on the tweet........head in sand, problem will just go away and do the fans really need to be told any news as to why, what and how the situation with JP has come about? Nah feck em.

Given the amount of AWOLs and disappearing players who we don't get told about till they have been carted out, i would think the tweet is probably more to do with kicking JP in the shins about the situation than anything for the fans benefit.

Reassuringly Chuckle Vision 2.0 approach yet again.

Guess they'll be no more winter rollin' round town in a white drop top Audi now.

Maybe JP bulked at the next installment.......MX5 round Starbeck? Escort cabbie to Boroughbridge and back? Citroen Dolly, Keighley in the pissing rain? Or just an hour experiencing those 'bants' again?

It will be due to a clause in his contract where if he plays so many games, we need to offer him a new contract next season I imagine.

Would have thought as a key player for us he would have been expected to play a fair few games. Kind of clause put into a players deal if they are getting on a bit.....tho might be a shout if they thought he had a touch and go injury track record. Which I think I remember a few mariners fans I know saying that he could be a bit prone.

Really need a forward to stick....got a high turnover of them, even this season.....all are out or gone. Perennial injuries of Knowles which was a certain this season, chib discarded after much fanfare on his signing, Robertson enough said and now JP out contractually. This season seems to have topped the long list of previous years similar issues.
