Thought our u/21s did okay last night but why did Elliott keep pumping the ball as high and as far up field as he could. He must be a real numpty!  It was obvious we would not win anything in the air.
Wish I had known we were playing the u/21s I would have gone elsewhere. The public should have been informed. Why did we agree to the fixture date when we were not going to involve the first team.We played the 1st team in the previous rounds.
Everything seemed subdued last night including having no music. Maybe it was part of the plan to win on Saturday!
Hope it does not backfire on the management.

Did not go, thank God, what a wasted evening it would have been. Bizarre decision it seems to me. Why bother to play strong teams in the first two rounds (against Micky Mouse teams to boot!), if you are going to effectively throw in the towel in the quarter final. There were surely fringe first teamers who could have done with an outing last night. Also shows total contempt for those unfortunate people who went. Might as well have texted BPA giving them a walk over! Ridiculous.

I went as Town we're playing and it gave me an opportunity to natter with folk. Enjoyed watching a lot of new players and felt they gave a good showing. Good to see some old town faces such as Adam playing as well. For £3 good evenings entertainment. Looking forward to Saturday and how we will setup!

Last season flying in the league in the playoffs we play full team until the final, we then play the kids and lose, this season playoffs seem a pipe dream atm, play full strength team rounds 1 and 2, let's try win the thing and get something positive out of the season, no plays kids and gets knocked out..... baffling

Initially didn't mind too much at the idea of watching the youngsters because i thought that they at least tend to like to try to play football. However, after a very short time it became abundantly clear that we were resorting to booting the ball up the pitch. Agree totally with Garage - why did the keeper insist on over kicking every ball and why was he not told to try something different? There was an obvious difference in size between the teams and we were constantly being put into battles we were going to lose, despite plenty of endeavour and much hard work, for which I commend them. But why put ourselves at an unnecessary disadvantage?

Your easily pleased surplus! We could have won this thing this season, and we deliberately blew it. And please don't sneer at the WRCC, two of my happiest memories are our 2 wins under Reedy. Great great evenings. Before your time perhaps?

Before my time and I don't sneer at any competition. Like I said I enjoyed the game and think we acquitted ourselves well. With the injuries we've sustained this season, can understand being cautious and also not wanting a very good manager to run an eye over a team and formation we might put out on Saturday. We still have a good way to go in the league and a win on Saturday against local rivals in the relegation zone will be a big test.

Two points. Firstly, as we play in a league of only 22 teams with no League Cup it would reasonable to treat WR Cup matches as proper first team fixtures. Secondly, why is a quarter final being played in early January? With no evening fixtures scheduled for March/April surely that is the time to play the quarter and semi finals. I would certainly be interested in going on a pleasant spring evening but a cold evening in January.....no thanks!

The dates for the County Cup are cast in stone and have always, as far as I can remember, been as we have them this season.
Got to remember that Evo-Stick and Northern Counties East teams are also involved and they have many more night games than National League sides have.

I have said in the past, play the early rounds before the league seasons start. They could be competitive friendlies. Quarter \semis\ final in April\May. Won't happen though.
