Getting ready to set off for BPA. Without labouring the point, it's a game to put to bed. 3pts, clean sheet and no cards or injuries will tick all the boxes.

Ex-red, rest easy mate- 1st half were 2 up, Chib missed a pen and BPA are not offering anything and look relegation fodder. Weather is something off deadliest catch, pitch looks like they plough it rather than roll it and hopefully we're good for the 3pts. JP scored a belter and Shiels nutted in a cross

Jeez, 1st half as previous post, 2nd half looked like we'd eaten a full buffet at the interval. Still 3 pts bagged but lots to ponder.

Good God! Talk about getting out of jail. Shocking second half, only one team was gonna win it, and it wasn't us. Still 3 points, but sheez that second half was terrible.

Agreed Paul. For some reason we looked like we were in a relegation playoff match, nervous and how many missed passes. Looked like they had never seen each other no least got a coach together. Keep talking about managing games, we knew they'd be fired up and come out second half so needed to keep it together and play them off the park. Instead, we gave them acres of room around the box, allowed them to get behind our full backs and did not cut out crosses. Lost the battle in midfield and the service to the forwards was woeful. Why we didn't get get more crosses into the box is anyone's guess. Still, 3 pts in the bag, Nuneaton up next who still think it's pre season and then Halifax, so the lads need to re group and march on.

    Pattern forming here.
Last two games we have been two up at half time and coasting, then shocking in the second half.
Perhaps we should skip the half-time team-talk!!

Skip the half time carvery and chocolate fountain more like. Got to nail consistency over the season but also within a game. Still, 3 pts are in the bag and hopefully there is a lot more to come from this group.

Should have been 4/5 goals up by half time . What happened at the team talk at half time i dont know but we were very poor 2nd half and lucky to get 3 points. They must have filled up on those terrific chips. This weekend will show us if we are up to getting promotion.

It shows disrespect to a team to say it's in the bag but Saturday's home game against Nuneaton should be foregone and the game against Halifax will really show us where we are. Long week of preparation for those two games and ideally go into the Halifax game with a big bounce in confidence.
Can but hope that Halifax have a really tough outing at Fylde on the Saturday as well grinding out a thankless 0-0!

It was partly a game of 2 halves because neither side knew how to play with a strong wind behind them. Eleven points from five games probably meets or even exceeds pre-season expectations and could be the basis of a championship challenge. However, we haven't played any in-form teams and the quality of our football is nothing special so far. So, are our glasses half full or half empty? The next set of five games should give a clearer picture.

After next Saturday's game against Nuneaton we will have played six of the bottom seven teams.
Next Monday we start playing proper teams.

Been a good week. Six points from two places we usually struggle at, The Northolme and that disused quarry that doubles up as a football ground on the top of a hill in Bradford.

I've been watching the videos of our three goals, and you realise that each of them was quite brilliant in their own way. 1) Leesley's cross for the first was perfection and Shiel's header was both powerful and deadly accurate. Match of the Day stuff in another league. And how many assists has Leesley got now? Must be 7 at least. Don't get injured Joe!

    2) OK began with a mistake, but again Leesley put JPP through beautifully and the finish was sublime. How many strikers miss those chances from the Premier league downwards? Loads of them. I have to say It is looking like I was wrong about JPP, he could be our 20 goal a season man. He is certainly number one in the striker pecking order now, no doubt about that.

    3) Easy to overlook what a great goal this was. Last minute (almost), team not performing, fans getting restive. Burrell not only showed great skill, but kept his composure and finished the job.

Worth watching over and over again.

Think SW needs to keep working on our build up play prior to feeding the strikers, 2 of JP's goals (BPA & Gainsborough?) came through the left channel with a ball to his feet so looking to play balls in behind for him to run onto as his finishing has been lethal from that area. Also getting more set pieces to get crosses into the box as Leesley and Thanoj can both deliver a ball onto Shiels and Ainge.
