Although I agree with most of the things you say TS cook left for a massive Peruvian club, youhill in my opinion wasn't good enough. Woods left for full time football, the rest I agree were a waste apart from Roma who imo is not as good as turner.

Interesting list TS, but I think Josh has a point: you can't really 'blame' Simon for Cook or Woods leaving, Roma, apparently, was made 'an offer he couldn't refuse' when Trinity's then owner (Peter Swan?), was chucking money at it (ring a bell?), and has stayed loyal since. Youhill, in my view, not really CN standard, as his subsequent career seems to have demonstrated. I would say the same about Cartman, I think (in all honesty) the Evo-Stik is his level, as it has turned out to be for Liam Hardy. I was never a massive fan of Adam to be honest about it. I did like Samuels and would like him to have stayed, Simon clearly did not get the best out of Bolder. The Killock situation remains a mystery, we may know the truth one day. The real 'killer' in that list, of course, is Southwell. As far as I can recall he never looked like much for us, now he is an absolute goal machine for Boston. We missed out there big time. I groan every time I see his name on Boston's score sheet!

Isn't one of the factors of our lack of success since Holland left, that we seem to have signed a succession of 'big name' (in non-league terms) strikers at JUST the point when they have started going downhill (as all strikers will). Think of the names: Allen, Kirk Jackson, Paul Brayson, was it Tommy Woods, dare I say Walshaw, and even (even tho' I like him) Paul Clayton. There may be names I have forgotten. Someone like Southwell at the peak of his powers we miss out on. Lets hope Thewlis turns out to be a success, big season for him next year.

Must admit, I was struggling with regards a goalkeeper. I included Woodsy as I don't think the club did themselves any favours only inviting him back for pre season training - a clear indication the club didn't have confidence in the player. Woodsy didn't have to prove his ability - it was plain to see he was one of the best players at our level.

The point I was trying to make (not very successfully) was that Simon has been at the club over 5 years and in that time aquired  some very useful players. The fact the club is no nearer to achieving promotion speaks volumes  (in my opinion) regarding Simon 's inadequacies as a manager. Makes me wonder why any player would want to sign for us (particularly as the manager is often the main motivation for signing)

    In a word.......money.

htfc is widely known as a gravy train destination. Andnot even Iin the north. Got talking to a couple of lads who play down at Maidstone who knew about town. Seems the club has built itself a reputation for all the wrong reasons.

I could rant and rave about Simon's rejects, but it's just got to the point where I am tired of it all now. I just want Simon Weaver to either step aside, or just leave so that I can enjoy going to the football again. When I go now, I expect us to be beaten, such is my faith in the current management structure. At one point last season, I got that fed up, that I bet on Harrogate Town to lose, and I won.

Whilst Simon Weaver is in charge, this club will achieve nothing of note on the pitch. It will just be perpetual motion, season after season and we will always be known in non-league football circles as a gravy train club with a manager who is lacking tactically and does not have the ability to motivate his players. Last season was testament to that, having spoken to several of the big name signings.

I've spoken to Simon on several occasions, and he is a really nice guy, and you can see he is trying and working hard and you can see how passionate he is, but I just believe that he isn't the right person to take the club forward.

The only way this club will progress on the pitch is with a new management set-up, not a revolving door of players.
