Potentially more work being done on and off the pitch at Wetherby Road in two years than in the last twenty - another reason for the glass to be always half full!

Yes great to see all these plans for the future of the mighty CNG! Bill did a lot of good things for Town, but the ground was virtually ignored (portacabins excepted!) for all those years. Great to see Mr Weaver getting to grips with it.

Great news. Glad to finally see things move forward with the new stadium or wetherby road renovation dillema/question that has been asked for years. Things are really looking up

I wonder what the arrangements are, and I am asking myself the following questions....

Is it going to be seated?
Is it going to be standing?
How many will the ground hold after the refurbishment?

Can anyone provide any info?

I will answer this one to stop speculation at the moment.

The simple answer is until the planning permission is granted, it is in the air. There are several versions of plans in the pipelines should the green light be given. As far the final capacity, that is up to the health and safety officer, we could apply for a capacity of x hundred/thousand but the H&S officer could decide that the figure is actually Y. Until the structure is completed and inspected - none can answer that question.

Looks like speculation it is then! Personally I don't mind too much as long as it is a good spot to direct some support from. I think that a lack of a goal end terrace has hampered the atmosphere at Wetherby Road a lot over the years and as the planning application is for a terrace I assume that is what we would be getting. Hopefully it has a roof to channel the masses of noise the Town faithful will generate! And maybe another Yorkshire Tea bar at the back for when it is raining

There used to be a wooden seated stand there years ago!
The grounds man shed was attached to the side of it!
Fans used to sneak into the ground through holes in the back of it!

Got some old newspaper cuttings somewhere showing it!
Might have some showing them building the baths in the changing rooms as well!
We have planning permission for a replacement stand down the Wetherby Road side!
But for segregation purposes I think the one behind the goal will need to be built first!
If there is anyway the ground can be upgraded to meet the requirements then I’m sure Irving will know architect’s who will be able to design it!
I think the local authority calculate & license the capacity of your ground!
