PITCH INSPECTION EXPLAINED Empty PITCH INSPECTION EXPLAINED

Post by gedmaloney Fri Jan 11, 2013 3:02 pm

At this point in time there are no problems with the pitch and the 8.30am inspection is based on the fact that Gloucester are travelling a long way and the Harrogate forecast has recently been unreliable to say the least - there have been 4 days recently where no rain was forecast and yes, you are right, it rained in Harrogate affraid .
If the present forecast is accurate - dry, cold but not freezing with the chance of maybe one hours light snow, the game would go ahead.
Hope this explains the situation - we would have played had the game been this afternoon! Cum on Town cheers cheers

Here's an idea. You know those covers we keep rolled up at the side of the pitch - why don't we actually use them?

Not quite as optimistic as before but was unaware that Harrogate had another bout of rain last night. Bone dry over here at Wetherby. This also expalins why the covers aren't on - they can only be used when the ground is dry, something which we still haven't achieved. Hope springs eternal - sorry about the pun! affraid

Maybe we could switch our home fixtures to Friday afternoons then! I hope the club realises the damage this is doing: even the hard core fans who post on this forum have just about given up the ghost with this situation. What the heck changed between Friday afternoon and this morning? It can't have been heavy rain, and its cold but no frost.

How many games on a Tuesday night in February you think are going to go ahead? And if they do what will the attendance be? 150 if your lucky. Well done to all concerned!
