Welcome back Dom Knowles!
A big lift before the start of the season! Dom was prolific last time and could be an answer to our striker problem. Can we widen the pitch to help our wingers?

What.......a..........******.........signing.
That ladies and gentlemen, is the 20 goals a season Striker.
**** me, I criticise a lot, but the club need a big hand for that signing. I'd never thought I'd say it, but Irving abd Simon, take a bow.

GREAT NEWS !!!! All he needs now is to continue where he left off - Dont think he got a fair crack of the whip at Burton but maybe it was a step too far for him- who knows

Re: Welcome back Dom Knowles!
First heard about this via the Forum, and thought someone was playing a rather cruel joke! Not sure I'll completely believe it till I saw Dom come out tonight in the yellow and black. It is great news and you have to give credit to Irving and Simon for persuading him to drop down three divisions (Burton now in League One). I did actually follow his progress last season at Burton, and he seems to have been mainly on the bench, often came on for the last 5 minutes or so. Maybe he is one of those players who are excellent at our level (fingers crossed!), but maybe not at Football League level. Like Liam Hardy could not cut it at National North level, but is deadly in the Evo-Stik.
Anyway it is very exciting news, and our strike force really does have potential now.
One word of caution though. At this time last year I was equally excited (maybe more so), that we had signed the most lethal strike force in the league: James Walshaw and Ryan Kendall..goals guaranteed! Didn't quite work out as planned I seem to recall.
Still, don't let gloomy thoughts intrude, its a great signing, and Dom could be deadly at our level.
One last thing: please don't get injured Dom!

Re: Welcome back Dom Knowles!
Just been having a quick look at a Burton Fans Forum. They all seem to have genuinely liked him, perhaps felt he had not been given the best chances at Burton, all wish him well, but think that League One was probably a step too far.

Re: Welcome back Dom Knowles!
Knowles is better than Walshaw. I just never imagined he would re-sign, ever.
Cheaper, younger and more motivated to prove himself. It will be interesting to see if he picks up where he left off.

Re: Welcome back Dom Knowles!
Didn't really get chance to find goal scoring form but then he was been marked by superior defenders...im thinking his overall game may be better, one thing at a league club he will have had to work on his overall awareness and maybe better at holding the ball up

TheNeil30. I paid just like everyone else. No free tickets for tonight, but if you do know of anyone who has free tickets for future fixtures it would be appreciated.

Re: Welcome back Dom Knowles!
Have been out of the country recently so am just catching up but like many on here could not believe we had re - signed Dom. Would like to add my congratulations to the club for signing him - what a class striker - must without doubt be one of the best in our league.
