Getting a bit desperate but how's about this ... we get a sheet of paper which is folded and on the top half we write 'I formally tender my resignation with immediate effect'. We present the bottom half of the folded sheet of paper to Simon and politely ask him to sign it. We then unfold the paper and immediately present it to irving. We get ed white to stick around post match to witness irving making an announcement that Simon has resigned. Not foolproof but worth a try?
