Re: worsfold injury?
I noticed he wasn't playing last night, but I havent seen anything to say he has suffered this injury and I cant access his twitter feed. But fortunately, we do have a replacement in Jake Speight, even if it is unfortunately true.
Can anyone at the club confirm this??

Re: worsfold injury?
Wonder how he has done it? Obviosuly not in training, it they would have referred to it as an accident in training?
Just as well we have Jake Speight/Dominic Rowe as strong backup.

Dreadful news. Very sorry for him - and for Town. Best wishes to him for his recovery.

Re: worsfold injury?
I think it would be a nice touch if the Supporters' Club maybe sent him a small get well gesture?

Re: worsfold injury?
I was thinking maybe a big get well card, signed by the members of the supporters club. If he wanted to go to the games, he would get the team coach :-p

That it a good idea Neil. If someone got a card they could just pass it around the 1919. I would do but too busy with away travel. Was a joke btw regarding the coach tickets.

Bit suprised that the club let him play in a charity game when it is so close to the start of the season.

Re: worsfold injury?
Very surprising indeed. Manner of the comments from Weaver suggest that maybe he wasn't given the ok to play.
Foolish thing from his own perspective to play given the Railway match the day before in heat, plus the typical strains of preseason. For the club and us i personally think it takes the piss a bit. He is signed to play for the club not some charity/exhibition match in sheffield.

Re: worsfold injury?
Sad news for Ashley and the club. He had looked quite lively so far. So much for the WWK then for a few months at least. Looks like the WWS in future, either Swain or Speight. Lets hope he (Speight) is back in action soon. Need to sign Swain in my opinion, he looked excellent first half Saturday, mobile and an excellent foil for Walshaw (lets pray he stays fit!) and Kendall. We need 4 strikers available, in my view.
Lets hope for some goals this afternoon, the missed chances on Thursday were almost comical, but we won't be laughing next Saturday unless we learn to finish.

Re: worsfold injury?
whatever the reason for the match, and if it was sanctioned or not, the poor lad is down, and probably out for the whole season, it's a serious break, and I believe, he is still in hospital. I wish him well and a speedy recovery, but it won't be easy and will take time, Like Chris Hall, this type of injury require healing, and then small steps back to match fitness, and confidence. Good Luck Ash!

Re: worsfold injury?
As for cover, we have Kendall, Walshaw, and hopefully Swain, Dean and Spreight. I would consider signing up Sellars again as back up.

Re: worsfold injury?
Gutted to hear of anyone getting such a injury when its one of your own players makes it so much worse. I'm sure Ash will come back stronger.
Personally wish him all the best

Re: worsfold injury?
Ash was the main reason we managed to stay in the top half of the league last season, he'll be missed by the fans and the players, and my son, Callum is gutted, he was in tears in the morning he found out. Good Luck to Ash and we'll still sing his song.
