Re: In Need of a Shave?
He doesn't seem to be bristling with many ideas
But he seems to take each defeat on the chin without getting into a lather about it
Might be cutting it fine to avoid the drop this year

Re: In Need of a Shave?
I cant see it happening, the reason for that is that i heard a rumour that Weavers dad has put a fair bit of money into the club, and that is why he was appointed manager...I dont know if its true, but if this was any other manager, I do think Fotherby would have got rid by now.
But, i'm not one to hit a man when he is down, but we need to be in a better position by Xmas.

Re: In Need of a Shave?
Only a rumour as you say Neil, but the guy on the other forum sounded well informed. If so it is rather worrying since it would imply that regardless of our results the manager's position wil be safe. I must say I was surprised both by the original appointment and then by the fact that, despite appalling results, and some dreadful performances (BPA anyone?), the manager kept his place. The rumour (if true) puts it all into focus. Some response by the club (unlikely I know!) to these rumours might be useful.

Re: In Need of a Shave?
I was surprised with the appointment of Weaver, as were the majority of fans, but when the chairman was going through the CVs, surely more high profile candidates, with more managerial experience would have applied for this job, as it is a club, as Neil Aspin showed, with the right backing and the right players, will always be there or thereabouts, come the business end of the season, in the playoffs.
Even through the rumours are rife that the budget has been cut by a considerable amount, someone more experienced even more so in dealing with a small budget, should have been appointed. When I heard this rumour about Weavers' dad putting money into the club, it made me even more convinced that if this money had not been put into the club, Weaver would not have been appointed manager of Harrogate Town.
I am not sure what the chairman was thinking when he appointed Weaver, because if Harrogate do get relegated this year, I really do think that even the fans would be calling for Weaver to resign. If he doesnt walk before then.....
