Apparently if Halifax draw with Guiseley on the Sat. the replay will be on the Tuesday and then our game on the Wednesday! Lets hope for a draw then Halifax will probably play their under 17's against us on Wednesday, beat them then demolish Ossett Albion (bottom of Rail's leaue) or Albion Sports (who they?), then its on the way to Woodlesford for a Cup Final...bring it on:)

Ahh yeah baby. Lovin' it. Take that Aspin. It's only the WRCC but a great chance of a cup final and silverware now. I think it's time to get buzzed up.

Aspin obviously thought it was their best chance for silverware (they are the defending champions), it was a strong team he put out despite his prematch rotation banter. Suck on that baldy.

Ossett Albion 3-1 up v Albion Sports in ET.

Semi at home v Ossett Albion who are bottom of Railways league. Hmmm i'll take that.

Final is at Valley Parade allegedly.

Guiseley v somebody else in the other semi..

Not putting the mockers on it but you know what the final could be...

Great second half, Woods seemed to get stronger as the game wore on.

Nearly left after the powder puff first half though.

Getting fed up with Man of the Match being announced before the end of the game, at least Craig earned it with his second save after the announcement.

Thought Cleveland Taylor was excellent after the enforced change in the first half. Made us believe we could get at them, over them and behind them.

enjoyed that, nice to watch a game with no pressure......was good to see Woods get a run out and Taylor changed the game when he came on.

Well try not to jinx us!

Just got to hope we go all out to win it now. I see no reason why we shouldn't give it our best shot. No more of this "not a priority" talk. Let's get it won and give everyone a lift and some cheer. cheers

    1st half...... Extremely poor....

HOWEVER! The 2nd half we were brilliant!!!!

The 2nd half was the best I've seen us perform in a long time. The build-up play for our first goal was outstanding, the sort of build-up that would have Match Of The Day pundits purring! Great one touch passing, Liam Hardy took on the defender to the by-line, cut it back, and Worsfold finished 1st time brilliantly.

Goes to show, provide the strikers such as Worsfold with decent chances and they WILL score us goals!

Couple of other mentions - Thought the enforced change with Cleveland Taylor coming on was perfect for us, he looks a real class act, his delivery is always spot on and very rarely gives the ball away and is a great attacking outlet. As other people have said Michael Woods grew in confidence as the game went on, picking out some nice passes to the wings and put in a real shift tonight, certainly can't say he's not putting the effort in. Liam Hardy was dangerous on the wings, again I would say he grew into the game, especially after he set up the first he gained more confidence.

MOTM - Craig MacGilivary - The save towards the end of the game was absolutely top drawer stuff, the Halifax lad couldn't have hit the ball any sweeter, heading towards the top corner and diving away to his right, Craig pulls off what I have to say, was the best save I've ever seen at the CNG Stadium, the lads a different class.

Obviously don't want to get too carried away, as it wasn't Halifax's strongest team, but the signs are positive, that with a bit of confidence, this team can actually play football and create chances. I would say using the width of the team and getting in behind the opposition is key. They just need to get that confidence instilled in them from the kick off.
    Onwards and upwards, C'mon Town!!!

Agree with all there j2021...That save from Craig when they got one on one wasn't bad either. Just to add to that I thought Adam N was excellent at the back and what particularly pleased me was the confidence he had to keep asking for the ball to feet from the keeper..When he got closed down he didn't panic like perhaps he would have done last season.

I think the difference with tonight's performance (or at least the 2nd half) was the obvious attacking play from midfield and the pace in which we attacked in parts. We lack that drive when we play 2 holding midfielders and quite often invite pressure so the way forward has to be with Bolder and Woods.

All sounds good! Craig really is one heck of a 'keeper, lucky to have him. Pleased to hear that Woods looked good, and Taylor IS class, hope he starts Saturday. Not that sorry I missed it hearing that the first half was so poor, I'd have missed a chunk of the second anyway.

And, please, no slip ups against Osset Albion! Valley Parade here we come santa santa

Wonder if Guiseley played an 'understrength' side  Shocked  No disrespect to Eccleshill, but I think we have already got one and a half hands on the cup. Play a strong side in the final and Simon wins some silverware Smile

Eccleshill look like a strong side on the counters, and in the final, shouldn't be treated like push overs, on paper, Town have already won it. And in my heart, can see maybe a 3-0 win for the town.
