Pitch holding up???
A huge thank you to ALL those who got the pitch just about playable for the Chester game. Our groundsman is a star having to prepare the piitch under the circumstances he has been faced with this season. You certainly won't see him sloping off!! So to Alf, Geoff & Jim we take our hats off.

The groundsman deserves a pat on the back trying to get that pitch playable. Why has it got in such a state though?

If you have a look at some of the previous forum posts, you will gain a better idea.

Re: Pitch holding up???
I see that there is a pitch inspection at noon today (Tuesday 12 March).
Personally, I'll be surprised (although delighted) if it goes ahead. We really cannot afford to have any further backups in fixtures.

Re: Pitch holding up???
To be honest I'm hoping its OFF, its gonna be far too cold if it is on, I'd rather it was delayed until April when the evenings should be warmer. Also the players need a week's rest in my opinion.

Re: Pitch holding up???
As far as I can see, there's a spare Tuesday on 16 April
Agree with you Paul about the rest. Problem is that a rest now means no rest later on.
I guess it might have been possible to swap the home and away fixtures around, but I'd imagine that opportunity has passed.

Re: Pitch holding up???
I cannot believe that.
Cue the complaints from the Stortford fans. If any turn up that is.

ok. sorry I havent been on the forums much until recently and only seen a few messages from Irving on the website. Are the club going to have to pay out for the repairs or are the FA?

Re: Pitch holding up???
Don't think the Chairman would be too happy to cough up any nore cash. Responsibility lies eleswhere. However the club and supporters and especially Simon, John and the players will not want abotger season luke the one we've had!! GAME ON TONIGHT:)

Re: Pitch holding up???
I cant believe the ground staff have managed to get the pitch to a playable standard. The quality of our ground staff is unreal, and i'm sure their talents would be recognised at clubs a lot higher than ours, and certainly havent gone unrecognised here at Harrogate.
