I thought there were plenty of good signs today, the side is trying to play progressive football and there is a unity in the squad. It looks like Simon Weaver has around 17 or 18 plus himself (I thought he was excellent for sixty minutes).

We lack width when Luke Durham is off the pitch, would love to see Burrell play as an out and out wide man. Woodhouse on good form - we will miss him on occasions.

Maloney wins a huge amount in the air

    Thoughts?

First half, we had unity and good movement and only a bit of linesman intervention and wayward shooting stopped Ollie from grabbing a second goal.

Again, I was impressed with Curtis who bossed the midfield around and Jon Maloney up front who seems to know the meaning of flick ons and holding the ball up!

The second half was unfortunate with the disruption caused by multiple subs but you have to give Simon Weaver credit as he has been fair giviing all chances to play.

It will be interesting to see what team we put out against Corby Town - which is Town's strongest?

I was pleased overall with the performance on Saturday, the linesman spoiled our attacking moves far too often, some absurd offside decisions given. Back 4 look pretty good: Harrison, Weaver, Bloomer, Scott. Woodhouse, Burrell, McTiernan strong in midfield> Emms will play just behind (on the wing) with Maloney and Ryan up front. On the bench, I guess, Hernandez, Durham, Sturdy, Dutton (too good to be on the bench, but who do you drop?) and (for me) Zeph Thomas. That would leave Gent and Wood and Broadbent on the margins, but injuries etc. will open up places for them pretty soon. Good to have a decent sized squad anyway!
I'm feeling pretty good about things, but we havn't played a Conf North team yet, so Saturday could be a real wake up call!
    Cant wait for next Tuesday!
