Of the teams averaging over one thousand supporters a game only one team was in the top five, and of the seven teams averaging less than five hundred supporters three are in the top five

Re: Surprising fact
Great jump in attendances this season. Testimony to the investment made by the club off the pitch and hopefully laying the foundations for town to be cementing and growing support over the next few years regardless of if we go up or not. Just over break even figure the avg attendance this year (though some of the is U18s free and Brackley match). That said our budget must be pretty big - top 5 certainly and better than a few teams in the National.
Does anyone have a longer term view of HTFC attendances through the years and decades that town used to get?
If we do stay down, it will certainly be a lot more tricky division but will be circa 10-12 teams all getting 1000+, with FC United and Stockport and possibly Darlo getting 3k+.

Re: Surprising fact
Ferriby managed to take 51 for their visit to Boston on a Saturday afternoon!

We managed to take 40 for our visit there on a Tuesday night!!!!!

Very difficult to work out away support in our league as most clubs don’t segregate!

Some have had a go

But too much guess work in that graph by the looks of it!!!
Our away support has also increased numbers wise this season!
Still not up to the numbers we used to take during our Northern Premier League days @ times but you do travel a lot further now in this league compared to then!
Volume wise per away fan we are miles better now than then though!

Re: Surprising fact
Interesting thread on away support Lundy, do you have any average attendances over the years for Town?

Re: Surprising fact
I've got the number of away fans on coach for every away trip this season. Will post later.
Over 30 on every trip with the exception of Nuneaton (Tuesday night and originally had 50+ booked).
Only two games we've not had a coach is Lowestoft and Gloucester.

Have a look here

& select a different year for previous stats!
With Phil Harrison’s book I can get hold of average attendance stats for every season from the 1987/88 Northern Premier League Division 1 season to this season!
Managed to find a few missing F.A.Cup stats from Phil’s book which proved interesting

Thanks for the two posts townfan and Big Lundy. That website is great! Fulfils my inner anorak nerdy love of attendances to a tee!
