I have just phoned Hednesford. They say no planned inspection unless really heavy rain overnight. Pitch is currently playable.

    There's only one Paul Clayton!!!!!!!!!!!
Had a hand in all 3 goals- great to see him playing again and what a 2nd goal he got with his flying scissor kick- We should have won by 6 goals or more and how they managed to get back in the game i dont know- So many good performances today but Swain again was MOM for me-we look as if we some injury problems now- Cadman and Ellis went off and look doubful for Tuesday

Who was the clown who said Clayton never scores? Oops...me! Great win today, but we are still 6th! So frustrating. Some team is going to get 70 points this season and still miss the play offs. Hope it ain't us!!

Ugly day and a pretty ugly game really. We ran them ragged for about 75 minutes, then they somehow got two goals? Really proud of the fantastic commitment by every one of our players, such that it was difficult to name an outright man of the match. Their supporters were in awe of how we were closing them down in packs consistently frombeginning to end. Not much football was able to be played because of the dreadful conditions, but we still managed to score three times, which made it all worth while. Cadman must be devastated at getting injured again. Thought he had a good game, but heard someone say that he had got a recurrence of his previous injury which I believe was a break, so it could be a while before he is back again. Hope the injury to Ellis is not so bad and that he is OK for Tuesday. He was phenomenal at the back again.

2 Xmas home defeats against lowly opposition has probably knocked the stuffing out of some posters. Reality is we haven't yet beaten a top 7 side - although some may say that in a few games we beat ourselves!
Wins against Stalybridge and Tamworth - and I believe this forum will perk up again.

I remember losing to Chorley but am struggling to think of another defeat unless mid November is now Xmas!
The problem we have is a few regular posters from a year ago don't like the Weavers and are a bit stymied at the moment.

Yes, sorry you're right. The Brackley game left such a dire impression on me, my brain lodged it as a defeat!

Listened to the commentary in the end and was great to hear us firing on all cylinders up front. Lets hope the brilliance of Clayton yesterday can be turned into a rich vein of form that we need from our forwards. Emmet sounded great again as well. What was Daniels like - sounded a little quiet from the commentary, his goals drying up could come at a good time for us ie not losing him in January and now with Clayton scoring! Long may a forward carry on scoring goals.

Daniels was the only one who let us down. His work rate is not good and he still keeps falling down trying to get fouls. Its becoming embarrassing to the club.He should have been taken off. Apart from that hes ok.

Was Gascoigne on long enough to form a view as to his match fitness? Pleased for Emmett but tough on Colbeck who has done nothing wrong really.

Assuming no injuries, what would be your ideal starting XI (and subs)?

The 5 teams above us all look pretty strong. Do you think we will be able to catch at least one of them? My fear is we won't!

Felt Gazza still a long way from full fitness but you could tell the class was still there. Once 100% fit would be in my starting XI everweek. Emmett gets better everytime I see him play. Agree with you about Colbeck, just shows how strong our squad is.

I would start with the same team against Stalybridge. They also played Saturday so will be tired too. Cadman definately out so will need replacing. We are now looking quite light in midfield. Hopefully new players will arrive before tomorrow and be available.

If we continue with the same form, yes we will catch one of them. We need to get points from our games in hand and hope not too many more get postponed though. I think Solihull will start dropping points and Nuneaton are within catching distance. I think Fylde and NFU will finish in the top two places with a gap down to 3rd. It's ours to lose.

Between Solihull and Fylde for the title. North Ferriby will be third. Between us and Nuneaton for 4th/5th.
