A request was made at the supporters club meeting for an away game at Scarborough/Whitby and as far as I am aware, this is being taken forward.

I think we also have a friendly lined up against Leeds United however that depends on the management of Leeds not changing.

TBF Ged seemed more likely to give us New Mills, which was a big hit apparently

I wasn't sure if we were allowed to talk about the Leeds match Laughing there's that too, which should be good.

Leeds would be an absolute cracker, 1000+ at the game with both stands completed and giving off noise? That would be an electric atmosphere.

On Tuesday 14th July, we will be having a seaside visit to play Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division side Cleethorpes Town, kick off time 7:45pm.

A week later on Tuesday 21st July, we will be entertaining newly promoted Evo-Stick side Darlington 1883 at the CNG Stadium (kick-off time to be confirmed).

Owing to a request from York City, the game against the Minstermen, that was to take place on Saturday 25th July, has now been switched to Tuesday 28th July (kick-off time to be confirmed).

Finally, for the moment, on Saturday 1st August (kick-off 3pm), we welcome Vanarama Conference North winners Barrow AFC back to the CNG Stadium.

We are also hopeful of being able to confirm some more fixtures soon, so please keep checking this website for official news as it happens.

Don’t forget that if you purchase a season ticket before the 4th July, you will be able to get into all our home pre-season friendlies for free.

No, Sadly I have my final exam tomorrow morning so I will have to miss this one.

I see someone has changed the website regarding the Barrow game now!

Look at the quality of players we had last season, and it took a penalty shootout to scrape it.

It honestly wouldnt surprise me if Railway beat us, because their younger players are also a very skilful, talented bunch (with an honest and impartial chairman) and have done very well last season in a tough league, given the fact that they have a shoestring budget (unlike Town).

Billy Miller has just left them for Tadcaster (funnily enough) though. Also lost both strikers to Darlo now.

    Be an interesting game anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did win to be honest, even with Lee Ashcroft in charge.

Jordan, what are the chances of coachs for the away games? If not I will have to look into Train tickets/ bus timetables I think.

Pretty boring close season so far (and only about 5 weeks away from the first friendlies): only 2 signings (neither of them likely to get the blood racing your veins), a few less than exciting friendlies arranged (when IS the John Smith's Trophy happening?) and is any attempt being made to get a 'big name' team to the CNG (Leeds?), remember Hull City last year? As a result the forum is deathly quiet, nothing to write about!

As they say 'it's all gone quiet over there'. Seems very apt at the moment.

    How's the new stand doing?

You can't resist the feeling that last season's massive disappointment has drained a lot of the enthusiasm out of the club and all associated with it. Feels a bit like going through the motions at the moment. Irving has (understandably) reduced the budget it would seem, Simon is talking about aiming for a 10th placed finish (that's really going to get the crowds pouring through the gates!), the whole mood seems incredibly flat.

OK so it all went Pete Tong in the end, but remember the excitement of last close season: the signings, the new terrace, the top notch friendlies being announced, at least there was a buzz in the air. This year...nothing. Still time I suppose for a couple of signings to really get us loyal fans excited (we have short memories!), but I'm not holding my breath. Anybody else have the same feeling?
