2011:
“Harrogate Town AFC is a fantastic club and one I’m hugely proud to be associated with. I believe there’s massive potential to develop and grow a strong side with an even stronger community ethos, but we need the people of Harrogate to get behind us. We realise though that for this to happen, we need to improve the way we communicate with them and hopefully this new website will help put us on the right path.”

New owner, Irving Weaver, 62, who is the father of manager Simon Weaver, made his fortune building a successful business in the construction industry. He is currently chairman of Strata Homes and acquires control of Harrogate Town by virtue of Bill selling his stake in the club to the housing firm.
Commenting on his new position and vision for the club, Irving said that his first aim was to help the club support itself, "The important thing to note is that it's not ‘'new man throws money at it.'"

“The important thing to note is it’s not ‘new man throws money at it’,” he said .
“Bill said to me would you take the club on? And that’s a very difficult decision because it’s not ideal when you’ve got manager son and father owner.
“And that has been preying on me for six months. It’s not an easy step.
“We ultimately need to get (the club) sustainable so we can be in a financially secure position and that’s not an easy task in this financial climate.”
