What a win!! Well done the youth team Very Happy

    (from the website)

First cup game of the season and Town came up against Strensall at Home. After beating Strensall last week Town were confident going into the game, the confidence then became apparent in the 5th minute when Liam Moroney drove past the Strensall defence to slot home the first of the game.

Shortly after Joe Goodsall fired home after some neat work by Kern MacFarlane. The game started to settle down with some dominance shown by midfielders Chris Wilson and Lewis Pye. Halfway into the first half failing to capitalise on many opportunities by Town, Elliott Gracey popped up from defence to head home his first goal of the season, Lewis Pye the creator.

On the 28th minute Town got their 4th with a nicely weighted pass by Pye into the path of Matt Brayshaw to fire home. Again shortly after, MacFarlane managed to break away from the defence to square the ball to Adam Robinson to get the 5th. Ten minutes later top goalscorer Joe Davison managed to get himself on the score sheet with another excellent pass by Pye. 44th minute and Joe Goodsall got his second of the game after some intelligent play by Liam Moroney, released Goodsall to hit the net.

Just before half time and a moment of magic by Joe Davison swinging through with the outside of his foot to place an unstoppable shot in the top corner. Half time 8-0.

The second half began with a similar fast tempo, and 47th minute Matt Brayshaw got his second of the game by heading home a delicious cross from Robinson. Davison managed to secure his hatrick on

the 52nd minute, before being replaced by goalkeeper/midfielder, Liam Corbett.Soon after captain Dom Rodgers grasped his first goal of the season after a mazey run by the right back linking up with MacFarlane, to then fire past the goalkeeper.

The 57Th, 58th and 59th minute saw Goodsall managed to get 3 quick goals after linking up with MacFarlane twice and Brayshaw to extend the lead further.

After Rodgers gained his second of the game with some link up with Goodsall. Substitute Elliott Moore then got on the score sheet with an excellent strike which flew past the goalkeeper, Pye with the assist. Pye then managed to create another goal sliding the ball through to Goodsall for his 6th of the game, and in the 78 minute another wonder strike, this time coming from Pye ended up flying past the Strensall keeper.

Shortly after, MacFarlane eventually managed to get his goal after some neat work by Moore on the right. Strensall then managed to test James Rule in Town’s goal with some good play by the forward to wrap his foot round the ball, which Rule had to react quickly too. Into the last 10 minute and in the 85th minute and Goodsall got his 7th of the game supplied by Pye. In the dying minutes of the game Brayshaw managed to get Town’s 21st goal of the game, after some more good work by Moore.

Thats crazy, reminds me of when I was in an U11's team and we won 26-0........Hopefully wont be long before we see the fruits of these youth teams.......21-0 there must be a good striker in there somewhere!
