Don’t know what to make of that. Absolute garbage 1st half continuing from Tuesday night. Team changes at half time giving us some left footed players on the left for a change seemed to do the trick. Not a lover of Leesley and he’s already starting to try and get booked for not releasing the ball when it’s the opponents throw in and trying to run the game with his mouth. He did take the corner that we scored from so maybe I’m too critical. Burrell had an absolute stinker of a 1st half but switched to right back and came good in the end. Beck continues to get no help from the ref and missed a sitter after making a good chance himself blasting the ball wide when he should have scored.
We did have one bit of luck with our 1st goal but i thought we did enough to warrent a draw. Need to up our game for Wednesday game against Salford who generally seem to have the edge on us.

We were lucky with a draw yesterday. Barrow (they say without 9 of their squad injured) did enough to win the game. Thanks to the ever persevering Mully, we got that lucky/played for ricochet off their keeper which in the end got us a draw. Didn't see the match against Barnet but from all accounts they were by far superior to us.
However, reeling back to the expectations at the beginning of the season, what a successful season we've had and thanks to a group of players who are fired up to win most of the time and give near 100%.
Mistakes and sluggishness spread like an epidemic throughout all of the players in the first half. We put in a lot of energy but seemed badly tuned and that 1st half performance is probably the worst i've seen us play all season. I agree with you, Garage re Leesley, but he's done enough on his return to merit a start next time. I also find Leesley's sportsmanship (lack of) antics not the way the game should be played but i suppose We have to accept that it comes with the package.

Whatever you say about Leesley his record with assists is outstanding - no sooner back in the team than he clocks up another one. Much more effective than Thomson as our dead ball specialist.

I have to agree that, a lot of the time (when at his best), Leesley's free kicks and especially corners are impeccable. Please let's keep Mully for penalties tho'.

I think the management have just realised like me that Leesley has no pace for this level which is essential and needs about 3 touches too many to get the ball under control for a cross. When he’s in the team most of the play seems to go through him so by the law of averages he’s bound to get the occasional cross in and assist. Think he could be at one level above his ability.
