Expecting this game to be a tough outing. Our build up play will need to be really cute and our attackers will need to put in a performance to prise open Jansen's miserly defence. If we can win this then 10 pts out of a possible 12 will be an excellant start.

They nearly made it to the Vanarama National League last season!!!

We need to make the CNG a fortress!!!!
Felt we didn’t kick ourselves hard enough in the b~#*’ks every time we conceded @ home last season!!!!!!!!!
We simply can’t afford to be conceding 38 goals again @ the CNG this season!!!!!

What a game and what a score. Towns fitness and hunger showing through as still pushing for goals right up to the whistle. Good side Chorley so to put 4 past them is a right result. 10 pts out of a possible 12. Get in town!

Once again, very very impressed with the whole team. Simon and his backroom staff are doing a great job with this set of players. A lot of noteable permances again. Ainge + Jordan brillaiant up front, midfield such a tight nit unit with Falky + Jack pulling the strings nicely. Back line solid, just the "odd cringey moment with the x2 center backs". And last but not least, our outstanding keeper. What a signing he is. I know Jordan was given MOM, but Ben was equally as good. So assured in how he goes about things, he didn't miss a thing last night. Keep it going lads, loving watching you.

Thought we deserved to win but given a real test against a good side.We seemed to play to a plan to drop back and let them play the ball in their half. Their keeper should have been off giving the pen away. Thought Thewlis had a quiet game untill late on when his fitness really showed. Cannot remember Chorley letting in 4 goals in recent times so starting to look good.

I'm not too sure how it works but I don't think you would see a keeper getting sent off for that due to the double jeopardy ruling.

I'm not sure why we switched off in the first 10/15 minutes of the first half. I was worried we were going to do exactly what we did on Saturday.

Re: Next up Chorley
absolutely fantastic start to the season, but without trying to put a negative spin on things let's not get carried away we had a similar if not better start last season until a few injurys came along, touch wood it doesn't happen this season but 1 or 2 injurys atm and the squad does look a bit thin,
A good solid performance last night thewliss left a boy and has come back a man completely changed player and I love it, Matt Jansen said 4-1 flattered us and I tend to agree a little but last night we had a nack like all good teams do of scoring at the perfect times, before we went 2 up Chorley had dominated for a good 15-20 minutes spell and if they had nicked one would of been a complete different game, a litlle bit worrying that after we conceded early second half we had 5 minutes of rabbit in the headlights football, but at a perfect time Jordan hit a cracking nerve settler in the bottom corner, the 4th goal was a great move where full time fitness and them being down to 10 and chasing the game played a big part.
That all said you can only beat what's put in front of you and it was a good good win which should send a message to others in the league, fingers crossed it continues for the foreseeable future, but while enjoying this rich vain of form let's try as hard as it is to not get to carried away.
Final thought is it just me that feels 100% more comfortable with Belshaw behind our back 4 compared to croocky last season.

I don't want to see keepers sent off but I wish referees had the power to award to award an automatic goal instead of a penalty. Fortunately Simon didn't miss last night but there will be other occasions when justice isn't done.
