    York City Tickets!!!!!!!!

Post by Big Lundy on Sat Aug 05, 2017 9:55 pm

Rumour is York City fans have been buying seated tickets for the main stand online for our home game against them on Sat 23rd September!!!!

Not sure how many seated tickets they are going to be allocated but wouldn’t be surprised Town fans who normally sit down could end up having to stand for this one!

So, what’s the story with the York match?

Apologies if I’ve missed something, but I can’t see anything on the website and I’m not ‘on’ TwitFace.

Do we need tickets for the stand?

If so, how do we get them? It’s not possible via the website, the office phone just seems to be an answer machine, and the office is closed on match day.

Can we sit where we want, or will it be the same policy as before, where we’re allocated a seat…and then we go and sit where we want?

How many tickets are still available?

Is the match going to be segregated?

If it is, what’s happening to the York supporters who have already bought tickets?

How many turnstiles will be open?

    Which one/s are we allocated?

What time on Saturday morning should we start queuing?

Don't know! Had asked york city slo about our ticket allocation! The replay I had there hadn't decided if it was going to be all ticket! Or not! Which will be a suprise if it wasn't all ticket

Think someone mentioned 1,700 tickets sold so far & if you add season ticket holders to the total that will take it to over 1,800!

Can York City bring more than the 1,400 that Southport brought on the 30/04/05?

The crowd that day was 1,947 and apart from (Leeds United fans for friendly matches) is the largest away support seen at the CNG stadium!!!!!!

It certainly will be! By half the distance! 20 miles down the road compared to Scarborough and hull 40 miles! I've got the added bonus I work in harrogate! And will be going stright from work next Saturday! Also think there is a lot off city fans living in harrogate and knaresbrough!

There's only one Barry Parker. I really enjoy his humorous but insightful commentaries.

Tickets will be on sale in the office at The CNG Stadium this week from 9am-4pm!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
    As well as online!
I suppose the question is, will there still be cash entry available on the day for this one? As there has been at previous BIG matches at the CNG stadium!!!!!!!

I'm surprised that all bookmakers quoted by 'Oddschecker' have York clear favourites !?

Not being funny, but have the ticket scanners been properly tested, and will they be more reliable than the current Ipads and printers? Because if not, we are in for massive delays.

The printers haven’t worked for 2 of the last 3 times I’ve been, the Ipads seem to take an age to have a think about what’s being asked of them, and I reckon the whole process, when they do work, takes at least 5 times longer than the old method of cash and click…. But that’s progress I guess.

I do feel for the poor guys having to operate them.

The above is an observation…the below is a criticism:

There’s little point telling us on Tuesday that there are some seating tickets going on sale when we were told on Saturday that they had definitely all been sold and that we’d have to stand.

How difficult is it to count up how many seats have been sold?… you could do it on an IPad…. Ahhhh!

I have problems with my back and if I stand for any period of time it seizes up, and I suffer for days afterwards.

I’m not asking for sympathy… I’ll put up with it for the sake of a 4-0 win, it’s just b****y frustrating, and I’m afraid another example of someone not joining the dots.

E.g. why tell us that tickets for the match will be going on sale in the office on Saturday, to be then told in the office that we had to go to the club shop?   Answer… because to get them from the club shop we had to pay to get in the ground, whereas if we’d got them from the office, we could just walk in and out from Wetherby Road and wouldn’t have to pay.

Blooming obvious, and understandable…but why didn’t someone think of it before Saturday morning?

Can't remember the last time we won a game in front of a big crowd, couldn't even beat Hastings! I recall (just about) us beating Accrington 3-2 in the FA Cup, last minute goal. But whenever Bill or Irving gave us a free admission match we always seem to lose, and its usually a boring game to boot. Saturday should be different, I hope. Certainly shouldn't be boring!
