All things Barrow Empty All things Barrow

Are we starting to see a settled team and shape give or take a couple of like for like changes. Got to hope we take that level of confidence into this game as it's teams like Barrow that we want to be facing every weekend!

    Game will be segregated.
100 or so Barrow fans, if that, will have the whole of the Sterling Motors Stand.
Reading their forum, there is not much interest in this fixture bearing in mind their league position and they are still in the FA Cup.

Good. Hope the team doesn't turn up either. When alls said and done, need to nail consistency from here on in and keep folk out of Rachel's clutches.

Bring it on!! We've had some right matches with Barrow in the past. We have to be full of confidence now with 2 wins in a row so let's keep it going. There are going to be some selection dilemmas which should hopefully bring out the best in the players.

Team pressure off with us playing a team most would say are a class above us.
But individuals playing for their places with others due back soon.
Barrow with a couple of recent injuries.
Could these factors give us a recipe for success?

Well I did not expect that- 2 goals given away in 8 mins- terrific fight back to be level at half time then to be in front with a poor penalty and then throwing it away at the end- it seemed to go wrong near the end with the substitutions-

3-3 against Barrow and I feel gutted! Thought we just about deserved to win that, still feel sick but proud of the players. Why can't we hold on. Nothing to lose on Tuesday, let's go for it. Great game, so much tension. Lp

So close. Food for thought if we do want to go up as they were bigger, quicker and won pretty much everything in air. Fair play to getting back into it but just needed to hold on and manage game out. Always a big ask with 10 men but lad had acres of space for their 3rd.

Yes we always lose out in the air up front - not our forward's fault - they didn't choose to be small. I give Pitman most credit - he always plays above his size. But we should remember that there is another ball game as well as ping pong.
Look we can win at Barrow in this noddy cup - sorry but as they are in the fa cup and fighting for a place in the football league, you can forgive them if they don't take the replay all that seriously.
If we get our mental effort right, we have a great chance - over to you Simon!

    Segregated on Police advice!
But that must be the lowest attended segregated match we have ever had!!!!!!

    Difficult one.
I've read all week that Barrow away support would be < 100 but if we did go against police advice and there was trouble ?
... Although segregation looked daft today - if we can afford it and we go with advice, then that must be the right decision.

Got to follow advice given. Get told to plan for 800, and only cater for 100 when 600 turn up you'd have the book thrown at you. Frustrating and costly for the club but no choice.

Highlights of the game. Still think offside for second although Swain is in no mans land. Turner not sure which way to turn for 1st and good pullback for their 3rd. Frustrating as almost had it in the bag!

If we can cause an upset tomorrow, this really opens up the competition for us. And another home draw as well.

Big big if. It's another free hit and hopefully we will have learnt some valuable lessons. Need to keep that ball on the floor. If Colbeck is to cover for Turner then opens up opportunities for Emmett or Brooksby to use their pace to get in behind and get some service across their box. Safe journey to the hardy individuals making the trip.

Didn't know if he'd be starting what with straight red but he's in. Solid line up. Let's see what they can do!

4-2 Barrow. Score line sounds harsh but we were so close ( again)! Got to pick ourselves up and get on with getting 3 pts against curzon. No easy game but vital to get a run going

Best side in league above and we've taken them very close over the 2 games. Proud of the lads. Funny - when we do well you can hear a pin drop on this forum. Some just want us to fail. On to Sat now

Barrow are a division above on an amazing run and we come from behind twice, and are winning up till the closing stages. We should be rightly proud of the teams efforts and to get so close is agonising. The team have shown what they are capable of and now we need to translate the last two performances into our league form. No reason why we can't get into the playoffs and that's what we need to believe as a club. Consistently winning with a settled lineup. Front 2 have chosen themselves now.
