Brackley- time to lift the gloom
Getting to the stage now where we are going to run out of excuses. Players coming back from injury, need to loosen the shackles and do the business tomorrow!

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
Brackley are a team that have been running under the radar so far this season. They are, in fact, one of the best teams in this league.
Drawn at Fylde
Won at Kidderminster.
Drawn at Chorley
Drew with Darlington.
Won at Halifax
Not to mention the FA Cup.
I would be delighted if we get a point.

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
No reason why we can't turn them over! It's why we put in the hrs in on the training pitch and analysis off. We need to summon up the team who routed Solihull last season. Have got to start taking pts of teams or else we will be playing catch up with the entire chasing pack, no least the front runners!

Still a very difficult game and a point would be good.

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
Anything would be good at the moment. Just trying to work out the formation based on the team sheet at the moment. Looks like back 3 Ellis Ainge Shiels with Turner and Swain in there somewhere?

Lost for words! Still you make your luck so forwards we go. Still mid table and 6 odd pts off playoffs but not showing any form at the moment. Need to shake our heads and get on with this!

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
Last minute goal again! This is getting hard to take. Crook dropped or injured? How was Elliott? How do we ever win again? And Fylde got 9. My God!

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
Cannot keep making excuses. We were 2nd favourites before the season started and please don't mention injuries, only really missing Kerry. Truth is we blow it every effing season despite our massive budget. Anyone guess what the elephant in the room is?

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
Couldn't be bothered going with recent performances and the long distance.
Good decision - it was depressing enough listening to it (second half on radio York anyway) without the commentator non plussed by what system we were playing and getting the subs confused.
Have I missed some news re Brooksby? If not, as one of our most effective players of late, in my opinion he should have started. I probably don't know as much about football as most Town supporters, and I know he scored, but should Ainge have been playing striker ? Still I suppose others would say 'you've got to speculate to accumulate' - exactly what I did by placing an ew bet on Town at start of season !

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
6 hours of travelling for a tactical catastrophe. What was our manager thinking!! Last week he was complaining about hoof ball then gave us another 90 mins to suffer. The team selection was set up for a point only and got what it deserved .Brackley were far superior in all departments. What a disappointing day for all Town fans.
Even our singing fans were disappointing reverting to foul language.

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
master of his own crap ideas is SW - losing the plot he is and he even thought we played well so can't critique the team...Will he blame himself? haha yea right!
Well the one good thing, I don't have to sit and debate with myself about annoying family members over the crimbo period by watching town play.

Is this where someone associated with town comes on to slam supporters Tommy - yes we are used to that too...pathetic and unprofessional!

Sorry trev is it only you that can have an opinion. I'd love to know how you'd have set the the team up yesterday. Maybe put a team and formation on instead of spitting your dummy out ?

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
Personally I would play players in their position for starters especially when their confidence is low...Secondly I would tell them to really get at Brackley...We sat back second half, SW keeps moaning they don't listen to him, perhaps that is because he has lost their faith....Ask Chibs maybe.......but quite frankly, he has a healthy budget, had players to cover injuries, their aren't any excuses, he just panics and tinkers week in week out, not good enough for the job and I doubt he ever will be........But as usual the fans have to put up and shut up!

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
Some good points there trev. The dropping off in the 2nd half is becoming an issue. Confidence def plays a part in that I think. Looking at December and January fixtures we've got a great chance of putting a decent run together.
I think the injury situation is still quite bad
Parker
Knowles
Ellis
Kerry
Brooksby
Robertson
Platt
With Pittman, emmet and swain just coming back in to the side. We need to see a bit more from the players. Grown men getting well paid to do a job ? Another toughie next week.

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
Just out of interest is anyone comparing our injury list to any other teams in the league. You are always going to be battling injuries but we could make up an entire 5 a side team with them. I don't buy the 3G concern otherwise Tamworth would be queuing out of their own recovery room. Begs the question though of what's the point! You could stuff Harrogate Town full of premier league stars but if there all injured for weeks at a time then you're going to struggle. How does Fylde keep Rowe on the pitch game in game out?

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
Better Physios maybe or they know how to tackle properly, or they find players that aren't injury prone! But that is why you need to make sure squad players are up to standard and I believe ours are on the whole.....Mind you, if you play a fringe player out of position then you will probably get half out of him anyway, infact any player.......if in injury crisis, keep to a 442 (most players are brought up playing this) and play them in position - if they put in 100% in for 90mins then we can't really moan as fans but we aren't getting 100% for 90 mins these days, we are lucky to get a good 20 minutes.

Re: Brackley- time to lift the gloom
There have been a few players this season come back from injury only to get injured again straight away!!!!
