Post by Big Lundy Mon Oct 31, 2016 8:02 pm

Our last visit there was on 15th September 2001 for an F.A. Cup 1st Qualifying Round match!!!
Salford City 2 TOWN 3 (Whellans 2, Ball)
    Att 112

2 ambulances had to be sent to this one, both for injuries to Salford City players!!!!!
    Shocked

£7 Standard & £3 concessions for entry must be best value in National North!!!!
    Cool

    Leeds top?!?

Great to see a number of families have booked on to their first away trip too. Sure the TV documentary would have had some influence on this.

Just hope we can put in a decent performance.

Vital game that we need to get something out of. Pivotal for confidence and position!

Just to wind a few of the plastic Man U day trippers out for a spot of celeb spotting. The type who celebrate promotion last season by singing man united songs.

There’s clubs in this league now who have the kind of backing behind them, which if sustained, will mean more traditional football league clubs dropping down to this level!!!

All the pre planning and systems today were totally ignored and we played hoof ball from start to finish. It was utter garbage.

Time to see which team turns up against Tamworth. Should be a cracking match and hopefully we're going to start getting back to full strength!

We had another left back playing out of position and he's been struggling in his normal position lately. Bring back Swain! That's the 3rd out of position left back we've had this season.

    Glass half empty
Salford showed why they haven't been great recently. Seemed hesitant and didn't want to over commit going forward which cost them when they did have a few clear chances. We were playing a side we would have beaten a month or so ago.
The second half, particularly, saw a continuous stream of long balls that ended up with little retained position.
It was as if we lacked the belief we could score, or even counter and instead most just pumped the ball far upfield.
Leesley at number 3. Not good.
Wingers we bring in seem to be no better than what we had last year in terms of Jack and Joe C. Yes only one game for the new arrival so too early to say but he was no exception out there.
The facilities were a total joke.
Far too many Manu day trippers and showed with their support despite the good numbers.

    Half full
We got a point and stopped the losses, with a clean sheet as well.
Crook made some great saves and put the last few weeks behind him. Will he be off tho?
Chib getting time, no different in a largely 6/10 team performance and was a thankless task up top alone chasing down aimless balls.
A run from one of their subs into our box. A moment of skill in a match lacking it.
We could have got 3 points.
    The Chips
    The Church Inn
The brilliant vocal support and as Simon says, new faces coming away from home.

They'll be no hiding against Tamworth carefree! Need to get back the ball down and get on it! Should be a good game and we desperately need to turn it up a few notches!

Great! Two home games in a row. The FA must have made a mistake giving us a home draw. Bring it on.
