    a Halifax fans view

Enjoyable game with i think a fair result.H owever, 600 away fans had the use of 3 porta loos and NO SEATING .When i asked a steward if i could transfer to seated his response was i could sit on the concrete! Your new stand is a big improvement but how this was built without proper toilet provision seems very short sighted.

Agree with you about the provision. It's a small ground and fitting toilets in is a challenge but hopefully we will continue to develop it. Fundamentally though it's a shame when any game is segregated but no other option as went to yours earlier in season on coach and needed a police escort out.

Also agree that you deserved the win, thought you worked hard and closed us down well. Deflected first goal but you create your luck and comedy 2nd goal. Don't think we had a shot on target so job done. Didn't see what started the scuffling at final whistle but fitted in with a pretty ill tempered Derby game.

There were at least 5 or 6 portaloos that I could see and I could see Halifax fans in main stand on my travels round the ground.  We also have a 4 sided ground which is a novelty in Halifax

Interesting comment from a supporter of a fairly new club who inherited a large rugby league ground and all its facilities. We are a fairly small non-league club who are constantly improving our facilities as we progress. We do not have the morons that FC Halifax Town (or whatever they are called this week) have which means we have to cage them in.
Football wise, they were the better side on the day and deserved the win. We were awful and maybe the injury list is now beginning to take its toll, we will see.

The away end was very long meaning it was more difficult to get chants going although when they did the acoustics were pretty good. Your fans were hilarious at certain points, singing "We're Harrogate Town, we're on our way back." when the only place you can go back to is the glue leagues. Either the attendance announced was wrong or your capacity is incorrect because you could not fit another 2000 fans in there. The next time we play you is the third to last game of the season meaning it should be a massive match; we will probably bring 1000+ to that match and I struggle to see all of us getting in which'll be a shame. I think we outclassed you on the pitch and fully deserved the win, from this performance and the one at the Shay I can't see how you are in a playoff spot. To some it up, you're a tinpot club who need to stop pretending you're so much better than everyone else just because you're posh pricks. We are 10x the club you are and it's sad to see that you genuinely consider this a proper derby. You don't deserve to be in a playoff spot or, in fact, be in this league. It was also funny to see you had to use rent-a-fan just to avoid being outnumbered by us Laughing

Typical Halifax fan.  Seems to have forgotten they are a new club formed out of the ashes of an old broken down club still believing they are in the football league. We at Harrogate know we are a small club making our way up slowly. At least we already have 3 points off them this season which is ok and still 3 more points to play for. We might even have some forwords playing next time to give us a chance.

LukeSheils, Danny Ellis, Lloyd Kerry, Wayne Brooksby, Dominic Knowles and Jordon Robertson is a hell of a lot missing at the moment.

Love the way some Shayman act like the club is a proper club.

We may be tinpot on some fronts but you lot define the word buddy.

Do Halifax Town still owe Rastrick High School and Mrs Firth of High Lane, Norton Tower money?

Or are you a different club then - 2008 and no history. And an inability to fill two stands.

I agree with your point about toilet facilities and this is something which needs to be addressed. There were a number of Halifax fans in the seated area so not too sure how they managed to get there.

I know that there are other plans for ground improvement and I understand that the gap between the Stirling Motors Stand and the Food Bar is there for toilets however whilst the food bar remains where it it, they cannot be built there due to hygiene.

There is an argument for giving the kop end to away supporters when segregated and running the same gate near the turn stile and another one by the seated stand. This would give good toilet facilities plus a mobile food bar with own turnstiles. This arrangement could last until we undertake further building work. This would be dependant on numbers and weather.

Totally agree. The current system of segregation clearly does not work. Three turnstiles for 684 Halifax fans and two turnstiles for over 1000. We ended up with a log jam at the top end and about 80 at the 1919 end of the ground.
    Total farce.

To be fair, the club have probably thought that the KOP is the defacto home end that we do enjoy standing in and creating noise from. Can see why they have it as it is.

The thing that would have helped is the planned extra turnstile at the north gate that never happened (or am I imagining it and it was just talk!) and also having trained people on the gate not two young lads – a hell of a baptism of fire. Akin to the Leeds friendly debacle of getting one whole person in as extra help on the bar despite there being a capacity crowd…..whatever that is now. File under the increasingly growing #footballbasics Town seem to struggle with.

All added to a situation where many of those new or once a seasoner’s quality of experience was pretty shoddy on Saturday.

The issue with the toilet facilities for away fans and catering for home fans clearly needs to change so suppose you are both right. Would be a shame to change it around but hay we might be trusted with access to a bar at half time. Obviously for after we have stopped chucking coins, bottles of piss and trying to take the away end. Drunken misfits.

Bearing in mind the number of games we need to segregate, I don't think it would be a disaster to give up the Henderson Stand.

How about when we're expecting a big crowd like last Saturday we make it cheaper say £11 if you buy a ticket beforehand and then have a turnstile for pay on the day and one for pre paid tickets, then anyone who's bothered to get a ticket before in theory shouldn't have to queue for no more that a couple of mins.
I'm open to the idea of trying segregating and giving a team the kop, but I don't see how much difference it will make to the toilet situation as they get 6 protables as it is and in the gents in the kop there's only 2 cubicles and room for 3 at a squeeze at the urinal.
